Ween - Shinola, Vol. 1 CD

 a gem!
this is a great ween album. they really come through full of raunch, and thats good! whether it be through sensitivity, humor, or just rock your socks off type stuff they really did it. get it.

 could do worse
Shinola is probaly the worst Ween album, although technically it is not an album just a collection of unreleased material. It is still enjoyable to listen to a few times, but gets old after a few spins. Should be avoided unless you are a diehard fan.

 Not the Best
Since Chocolate and Cheese, Ween has made one amazing album after another. Unfortunately with Shinola vol.1 there are good songs and there are bad songs, and no so-so songs. Shinola's songs get better and easier to listen to as the album progresses. In my mind there are different Ween fans; those who liked Ween more in their "Browner" times and those who like them more now with albums like Quebec and White Pepper. I for one like them more now, and Shinola seems to satisfy that range of listeners.
