| | Ozzy Osbourne Under Cover CD Ozzy Osbourne Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
First served up as gravy in the PRINCE OF DARKNESS box set, UNDER COVER is now available as a stand alone release, featuring several additional tracks. Putting the Ozzy stamp on Mountain ("Mississippi Queen") and Cream ("Sunshine Of Your Love") rockers seems logical enough, although some metalheads may be surprised by the lighter fare. Ozzy expresses his admiration for his beloved Beatles with two John Lennon solo cuts, as well as a poignant version of "In My Life." Also left off the earlier release but found on UNDER COVER, are Ozzified takes on Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" and the Moody Blues' "Go Now." While shred guitar devotees may find the absence of Zakk Wylde disappointing, supporting the Ozzman are capable metal stalwarts Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) on guitar, Chris Wyse (The Cult) on bass, and longtime Ozzy drummer Mike Bordin (Faith No More).
Ozzy Osbourne is revered as many things: a heavy-metal icon, a reality-TV star, and godhead of the longest running rock festival tour in the history of the business. The Ozzy branding is a multimedia phenomenon, leaving nothing undone - except perhaps, until now, an all-covers album paying tribute to songs near and dear to John "Ozzy" Osbourne's heart.
Personnel include: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Jerry Cantrell (guitar); Chris Wyse (bass guitar); Mike Bordin (drums); Gregg Bissonette, Ian Hunter, James Mastro, Jim Cox, Joe Bonamassa, Leslie West, Mark Hudson, Michael Landau, Paul Santos, Robert Randolph, Steve Dudas, Sarah Hudson, Bogie Bowles, Tabby Callaghan, Bruce Sugar.
Ozzy Osbourne Under Cover Songs Under Cover Music Review Average Rating: (2.3 out of 5 stars) Could be better Agree only few of the covers are good. Thought Working class Hero was a improvement on Lennon. As a Ozzy fan I prefer hearing this covers done by him than worst versions by newer bands and wannabees. Can think of a second album with better selection to suit Ozzy. Submitted by velthuizen (Durban, South africa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
One Mans Trash Is another mans treasure. I am a fan of both Ozzy and Lennon, and have enjoyed most of these tunes for years. This one is like making your jacked mp3's into a cd compilation, only with the ozman on vocals Submitted by Jeff (Portland, OR) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Ozzy Owes Us A Refund What a travesty of a record. Just two decent covers and 11 awful ones. Ozzy's version of Mountain's "Mississippi Queen" is entertaining. And somehow he adds a little Sabbathian quality to the Stones' "Sympathy For The Devil". But really...do we need to hear Oz versions of "Working Class Hero", "Woman" and "In My Life" because the Oz admires John Lennon? Please...donate money to the Yoko fund...leave John's music alone! Listening to this album is like listening to "William Shatner Sings!" You keep listening because you can't imagine how it can get worse. (It does.) I for one think Ozzy needs to write a check for $11.00 to everyone who plunked down $13 for this album. $6.50 a song is too much! Submitted by dezlaw (Huntsville, AL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

| | Quiet Riot - 89' Live In Japan DVD (1989)
Under Cover
$7.15 89' Live in Japan was filmed during a tumultuous period for Quiet Riot. With Paul Shortino at the helm, the band quickly displayed their versatility and resilience, and rocked crowds the world over. This footage serves as a glimpse into an interesting chapter of one of the greatest Metal bands of all time. Bonus Video - "Stay With Me." Track list: Party All Night, I'm Falling, Stay With Me Tonight, Run To You, The Wild And The Young, The Joker, Drum Solo, Coppin' A Feel, King Of The Hill, Cum On Feel The Noise.
Taking the heavy metal world by storm in the early 1980s with their stadium-rock anthem "Cum on Feel the Noize," Quiet Riot's career mirrored that old adage epitomized by rock and roll: "live fast and die young." Rising quickly to heights of stardom that shocked both the public and the band themselves, their trajectory was fraught with obstacles that prevented them from assuming iconic status in rock history. Frontman Kevin DuBrow, who supremely embodied the rock star bad attitude with his loud mouth and quick temper, had difficulty dealing with success, and even more difficulty dealing with the failure experienced by their debut album's successor, ...
| | Twisted Sister - Live At Wacken: The Reunion DVD (2005)
Under Cover
$14.85 Formed in 1976, the New York City-based glam-metal band Twisted Sister ruled the '80s airwaves with their heavy brand of Motorhead-influenced rock, a garishly made-up image that borrowed from Kiss and Alice Cooper, and a healthy dose of humor made evident in their theatrical live shows and imaginative music videos. Though Twisted Sister broke up three years after the double-platinum success of their 1984 album, STAY HUNGRY, the band performed a much-anticipated reunion concert at the 2003 Wacken Open Air metal festival in Germany. This documentary/concert film finds band members Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Mark "Animal" Mendoza, Eddie Ojeda, and A.J. Pero discussing Twisted Sister's 1980s glory days and the events leading up to their reunion in candid interviews interspersed with ...

The project was co-produced with award-winning producer and engineer, Armand John Petri, whose recording and production credits include The Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, and Sixpence None the Richer. What it's like: "I call it 'neo-bohemian'," says Roth. The disc is acoustic guitar driven rock, reminiscent of the early 70's with elements of the 90's Seattle coffeehouse scene, and the edgy sophistication of 21st century writing and production. Overall, it can be described as an organic mix of modern rock/acoustic pop."What It's Like" opens up with early Rolling Stones style percussion and Tom Petty-like electric slide guitar. The title track features industrial bass lines, a haunting and distorted violin solo, and CSN-esque harmonies. The project also ...
