A hip-hop/electronica outing by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda (aka Fort Minor), THE RISING TIED features surging synth lines, tight beats, and moody string passages (arranged by Beck's father, David Campbell). In addition to Shinoda's own thoughtful and potent rhymes, this 2005 album boasts cred-boosting guest shots from Black Thought (of the Roots), Common, John Legend, and others. Far from a vanity project, the disc reveals Shinoda's behind-the-boards skills, particularly on the standout track "Believe Me," which also benefits from Eric Bobo's frenetic Latin percussion. Although THE RISING TIED will undoubtedly appeal to many Linkin Park fans, the inventive and eclectic record is likely to find enthusiastic listeners beyond the nu-metal set.
Fort Minor: Mike Shinoda.
Additional personnel: Common, John Legend, Kenna, Styles of Beyond, Black Thought, Joe Hahn, Holly Brook.
Rolling Stone (No. 988, p.120) - 3 out of 5 stars - "...[D]ark, rock-schooled beats...brassy rhymes...sleek boom-bap, complete with agitated pop choruses and deft instrumental ornamentation...." Spin (p.107) - "Linkin Park's cofrontman releases a surprisingly respectable emo-rap album exec-produced by Jay-Z..." -- Grade: B Entertainment Weekly (No. 852, p.81) - "...Flowing like eminem on Ambien, he blows up about the state of the world over brittle hip-hop beats..." - Grade: B Uncut (p.112) - 3 stars out of 4 -- "[A] credible slab of tough, organic hip hop, bound to please fans of Linkin Park and Eminem alike." Fort Minor Rising Tied Songs Rising Tied Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Fort Minor Rises The Rising Tied... Now i listen rock, punk, even tho this is a hip hop album, i like it still. I like the hard songs from Linkinpark so i noticed this album too. The Lyrics are excelent, songs are diffrent, "Where'd you go" is soft, Believe me, Remember the name are fast and joyable, Red to black, In stereo are difficult theme songs. The album is great to anyone from rap to Rock. Have fun Submitted by Andris (Riga, Latvia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Rising Tied album
$14.09 As a director or as a musician, Rob Zombie shows no signs of closing the door on either of his creative endeavors anytime soon. Returning with his first album since 2006's Educated Horses, after several delays following this record's completion in 2008 -- due to his work on Halloween 2, lack of promotion, and time spent shopping for a new label after 18 years of recording for Geffen -- Zombie has since gone on to say that the ...

| | Judas Priest Stained Class CD (1978)
Rising Tied music CDs
$6.75 Principally recorded at Chipping Norton Studios, Cotswold, England in 1978. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Culled from performances on their mammoth 1986 TURBO tour, Judas Priest's second live album, PRIEST...LIVE! was issued one year later. Including some post-BRITISH STEEL songs, PRIEST...LIVE! doesn't quite measure up to their outstanding earlier live album, 1979's UNLEASHED IN THE EAST, but it has its moments.
Unsurprisingly, plenty of selections from the TURBO album are featured, such as "Out in the Cold," "Turbo Lover," and "Parental Guidance," but "Hot Rockin'," "Don't Go," and several '80s Priest classics are noticeably absent. Still, you can't go wrong with inspired versions of such favorites as "Love Bites," "Some Heads Are Gonna Roll," "Electric Eye," "Living After Midnight," and "You've Got Another Thing Coming."
After the stunning success of 1977's SIN AFTER SIN, Judas Priest offered another exceptional album with its follow-up one year later, STAINED CLASS. Though disco and punk were grabbing all the headlines in the late '70s, Priest turned a deaf ear to ...
| | Motley Crue Shout At The Devil CD (1983)
Rising Tied songs
$11.35 Principally recorded at Cherokee Studios, Hollywood, California. Includes interviews conducted by Alan K. Stout.
Whereas Motley Crue's 1981 debut TOO FAST FOR LOVE was glam rock-based (both musically and visually), 1983's now-classic sophomore effort, SHOUT AT THE DEVIL, had more in common with heavy metal. The album served as The Crue's commercial breakthrough, going double-platinum shortly after it's release (and eventually reaching quadruple-platinum status) and spawning several popular MTV videos. Motley Crue toured behind SHOUT as an opener for Ozzy Osbourne, and the success of the album also helped open the floodgates for the L.A. metal scene.
SHOUT AT THE DEVIL is undoubtedly Motley Crue's all-time best. ...
