| | Chris Botti To Love Again CD Chris Botti Discography of CDs
As its title implies, TO LOVE AGAIN is essentially a sequel to trumpeter Chris Botti's well received 2004 outing, WHEN I FALL IN LOVE. In fact, two guest vocalists from the earlier album, Sting and Paula Cole, appear again, with Sting lending his distinctive voice to the lilting "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" and Cole accompanying Botti on the gentle "My One and Only Love." Among the many other guest performers, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler appears on the lush, string-laden "Smile," an odd yet remarkably suitable departure for the raspy-voiced frontman. Despite the added star power, the record is still Botti's show, as he reminds listeners with his smooth, atmospheric Chet Baker-inspired horn lines, particularly on the gently floating "Embraceable You" and the romantic title track.
Personnel: Chris Botti (trumpet); Billy Childs (piano); Christian McBride (bass instrument); Peter Erskine (drums); Paulinho Da Costa (percussion).
Down Beat (p.70) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[W]ith a varied procession of guest vocalists wrapped in Botti's own GQ elegance and transparent trumpet interludes. They hover like smoke rings in languid and lonely whispers..." JazzTimes (p.84) - "Botti balances the songs' tempos and moods with great care....A wonderfully moody work showing that the Great American Songbook is always open to new interpretations." To Love Again album
$8.49 Ultradiscs are mastered from the original master tapes using Mobile Fidelity's proprietary mastering technique, then plated with 24-karat gold and housed in a stress-resistant lift-lock jewel box.
"You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had" and "The Same Thing" did not appear on the original version of FOLK SINGER. They were recorded at a separate session in April 1964, three months after FOLK SINGER was released.
The title and cover photo of this 1963 recording were an attempt to cash in on the burgeoning American folk revival, but this is pure acoustic blues. Muddy began his career as a Robert Johnson-style solo acoustic performer, and the tunes on FOLK SINGER hark back to those days. He's accompanied sparsely by Willie Dixon, drummer Clifton James and a young Buddy Guy, who provide a stark, deliberate backdrop for Muddy's rich vocal and expressive bottleneck guitar work. The richness ...

To Love Again CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' ...

| | Chris Botti When I Fall In Love CD (2004)
To Love Again songs
$9.55 Although the most popular contemporary jazz tends to fall into the "lite" category, trumpeter Chris Botti avoids painting himself into this corner by sticking with an approach more reminiscent of Chet Baker. For his 2004 album, WHEN I FALL IN LOVE, Botti takes it a step further by employing the London Session Orchestra to provide him with lush accompaniment on a program predominantly made up of standards. The Oregon native adds further layers to the album's sound by calling on singer Paula Cole, whose burnished vocals provide a fine foil on a brush-stroked version of Irving Berlin's "What'll I Do?" and "How Love Should Be," with its subtle mix of ...

To Love Again songs
$14.49 Recorded live aboard the SS Norway in October 1998. Includes liner notes by Hank O'Neal & Sean Smith.
Recorded over three days at the Floating Jazz Festival aboard the S.S. Norway, bassist Smith and his quartet present eight of the leader's mainstream jazz compositions and a Duke Ellington cherry on top. Allen Mezquida is clearly from the Phil Woods-Jackie McLean-Richie Cole school -- bop-influenced, tonally centered, and with a very slight tart edge. Bill Charlap continues his trek as a fully developed pianist, whether comping, accompanying, or taking his arcing solos to their full zenith of expression. ...

$13.29 Bob Cheevers Bio"I don't know if these stories are true...but they happened to me." Bob Cheevers has earned a place in the landscape now called Americana Music having charted Top 20 in that genre with his last two CDs. Bob grew up in Memphis and got a soul full of music not only from the icons of his youth such as Elvis, Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash but also from his Mother, who was a radio star during the Great Depression performing with the Big Bands of that era. A hundred year old photo of his Grandmother graces the cover of his Gettysburg To Graceland CD. From an early age, Bob's creative feet were firmly planted in Mississippi Delta mud, and his songs began to feature characters whose lives reflected the life style along the rivers of the South over the past hundred years. After starting his first band during college, Bob and his musical direction migrated west following a dream that took him from the pop field in Hollywood to country and roots music in Nashville with stops inbetween to gather the tools and trophies of his career. Among his statues and certificates of accomplishment is an Emmy for the song "Big City Gambler" which was voted Best Musical Composition of 1986 by NARAS. Several decades as a writer have seen over a thousand songs born. Using his organizational skills in the late 1980's,The Bob Cheevers Sacramento Songwriter Songwriter Showcase ran for two years featuring high profile regional and national hit writers and served as Bob's springboard to Nashville. After moving to Nashville and in addition to pursuing his own musical career, Bob organized and produced a yearly benefit series of shows atThe Bluebird Cafe for Nashville's Alive Hospice Oganization featuring Nashville's most famous writers, artists and performers. Now in its ninth year, its still The Bluebird's most popular series. As a producer, publisher, singer, songwriter and seasoned performer, Bob has found his own voice spinning rootsy, blues-flavoured tales of the Delta in a conversational lauguage of the heart.ACCOMPLISHMENTS:Gettysburg To Graceland" was among the CDs from which were chosen Grammy nominees forBest Contemporary Folk CD of 1997Songs in major films, HBO Films and TV shows.Personally asked by Johnny Cash to open Cash's last tour.Winner of prestigious Kerrville and Napa Valley Folk Festival Songwriting awards. Two music videos won a total of 8 Emmys including Best Musical Composition of1986.Bob's 1960's Pop group "The Peppermint Trolly Company sang the theme to the hit TV show Love American Style.RECORDINGS2004-One Man One Martin on Inbred Records...a dozen new guitar/vocal songs released june 04 in ...
