The adagio came across with emotion that stirs the soul - the performance tight: sometimes this piece suffers with absolute looseness and can be just plain boreing - not with the Netherlands Blasers. Recording quality is out of this world - highly recommended.

 Superb recording of a masterpiece
I almost refrained from buying this, although I have a redbook CD of it, and wanted it in multi-channel SACD, I wondered: "Who the heck are the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble - are they any good?" Ha! are they anygood?! Wow are they good! And the sound is as good as any I have heard. This is a superb disc. The clarity is astonishing and the "surround" captures the ambience of the recording location making it feel like your listening room has become 10 times larger. That is what multi-channel sound should do!
