Despite the rather unfortunate title, Ultra Chilled, Vol. 1 assembles some of the most established names in down-tempo electronica and trip-hop, mixing them with some relative unknowns. The flow from Dido to Gorillaz to St. Germain to Morcheeba is deceptively smooth, as is what will be most listeners' introductions to acts like Zero 7 and Goldfrapp, with each song seamlessly blending into one another. Paul Sabu was born and raised in Southern California. He didn't pick up the guitar until the age of 15. But by 17 Paul was sneaking in local clubs, bars, anyplace that would let him sit in or plug in. He began the journey to his recording career at 19 and has never stopped. SABU and ONLY CHILD were two of the late 80's and 90's musical vehicles for Paul, who was dubbed "L.A. session king and AOR hero".
