$14.54 Based on title alone, it would seem that SOUTHERN VOICE picks up on the harder country edges of LET IT GO, but that's not the case: this is Tim McGraw's rockiest album yet, opening with a slow, spacy crawl called "Still" that would not be out of place on a record by a U2 knockoff and taking the occasional detour to Nickelback territory on the Chad Kroeger co-written ...

$6.69 Bio:I have played and sang off and on since 1968 in a variety of duets and one garage band in high school. When I was growing up my dad would always listen to KAYO country western music, I hated it. I never thought that I’d be playing country when I got older. I still consider myself a folk singer, just with a bit of a twang sometimes. I have recently started writing songs. Mary Chapin Carpenter is my favorite singer songwriter. People say I sound like Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Jimmy Buffett or John Prine. Depends on who you ask. Other song writers I like are John Prine, Beth Nielson Chapman, and Richard Shindell, Cheryl Wheeler, and others. I like the melodic song written with love about someones life or a comment on life to uplift the soul.Song Write-Ups:Build Up the BridgeI wrote this song after the Katrina flood. I reflected off of that to a “metaphoric flood situational song”. Alone We Stand as OneLife is always changing, but truth is there for all to see. You stand for what you believe in and stand with others for the same cause even if they’re not with you dead or historically. Those who stand in a good cause are brothers in time. This song is a 1960’s type anthem song like “We Shall Overcome”.Going HomeI wrote this song about returning to visit the home of my childhood. The SeaTac airport had condemned neighborhoods in the flight path our house was in one of those neighborhoods. The song talks about abandoned houses and overgrown neighborhoods. (A metaphor for lost memories about childhood)The Start of Our GoodbyesI wrote this around an exercise suggested in Shila Davis book “Successful Lyric Writing”. This, in combination with a saying my wife has on the weekend, “Let’s get started on the day.” instead of lingering in bed.Our Winter HappinessA happy marriage song, I wrote this about a winter vacation with my wife and dog. We never seem to have normal summer vacations, when we get around to it its winter. My wife says she likes to watch the storm surf on the ocean. On this vacation we rented a cabin on the ocean shore and it snowed while we were there. One Man WomanThe drifting into town lover treats the relationship like dust on his shoulder. This is a typical no commitment cowboy song, the same old same ongoing half relationship that can’t seem to stay dead. Until she steps on him like the snake he is, he’ll keep coming back. One Damn BitYou know it doesn’t matter how many songs, or dreams, or friends you have if no one is there to: sing with you, or dream along, or know how to care for you it’s all for nothing. Because a heart like a song needs a home.Hearts and SoulsSong about a divorced dad thinking about visits to his little girl and her growing up to soon. The song starts verse one with leaves falling down continues into snow falling down, and springtime of her life follow the seasons. In the chorus hearts and soul weaving lives and watching her grow up too soon and time moves on.Love Will GrowLove will grow when you’re with the one you love. But, it is like finding a western breeze blowing through the trees if you insist on certainty in life. Love is a risk, but when you express your love you grow no mater what the outcomeOnly OneEven after you get love there may be a problem holding on to that one love. Once you were closer but now it doesn’t seem right. We used to solve our problems together, now I don’t know that we can, but I will trust you when you say you love me.A Simple Love SongUncertainty about a once strong love, will it last? As we get older will you still love me? Or will our love just ...
