I Got Rhythm album
$19.44 MICHAEL BUBLE MEETS MADISON SQUARE GARDEN finds Canadian crooner Buble making a highly anticipated appearance at the storied New York City concert venue. Buble is at the very least an incredibly talented vocalist who grew from a nice kid singer in the early part of the decade to a truly swinging interpreter of the Great American Songbook canon by its end. Furthermore, he found the right modern pop/soul songs--often co-written by himself ("Lost," "Home")--which have worked to fully contemporize ...
| | Michael Buble CD (2003) Enhanced CD
I Got Rhythm CD music
$9.99 Bob Sheppard, Dave Boroff (saxophone); Gary Grant (trumpet); Randy Waldman (piano, keyboards); Brian Bromberg (bass); Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Tull, Frank Capp, Joe Labarbera (drums); Raffael Padilla (percussion); Jochem Van Der Saag, Neil Devor, Felipe Elgueta (programming); Barry Gibb (background vocals).
Right off the bat, Michael Buble has you in his corner just because you know people have been calling the poor guy "Bubble" all his life (keep that accent on the second syllable, folks). Nomenclature aside, Buble's debut album positions him as something of a Harry Connick, Jr. for the 21st century. His husky croon gives him a bearing beyond his tender years, and in fact his Sinatra-phrased, pop-jazz style bears strong echoes of Connick's singing. Accordingly, the production leans heavily on the updated swing of chestnuts like "Fever" and "Come Fly With Me," but that's only part of the story.
As a modern song stylist, Buble digs into the standards of a more contemporary songbook as well. George Michael's jazzy ballad ...

| | By Request: The Best Of Karrin Allyson CD (2009)
I Got Rhythm CD music
$9.10 The contemporary jazz singer Karrin Allyson is perhaps the most confident and versatile of the new vocalists. Enjoying a long and stable association with Concord Records, she seems to have filled the vacumn left by the suicide of Suzannah McCorkle in 2001, both for the label and for contemporary jazz singing in general. Less a composer songbook scholar than McCorkle, she has nonetheless ranged far and wide with album projects that have explored French and Brazilian song (FROM PARIS TO RIO, IMAGINA), contemporary singer-songwriters (WILD ABOUT YOU), pure jazz composition (FOOTPRINTS), and jazz icons (the exceptional BALLADS: REMEMBERING JOHN COLTRANE). These albums and more are duly represented on BY REQUEST: THE BEST OF KARRIN ...

If love is a thing of stormy passion, and agonizing heartaches, the 24 songs of romance and heartbreak contained herein, bring out the softer more enjoyable side of romance. The Four Freshmen take these songs and harmonize away all the rough edges with their legato flow. The ballads are treasures of American music. The first 12 tracks were originally released in 1958, and are comprised of "they're playing ...

$20.29 "So much talent here! Love your ideas in melody and lyrics....good vocal." TAXI (independant A&R company)Growing up in Southern California, I never really understood what all the fuss was about in coming to Los Angeles or Hollywood because that was just every day life for me. I loved going to the beach and surfing, even to this day.My passion for music was ignited when I first heard the Beatles, the Stones and Eric Clapton to name a few. I've been following that passion for over thirty years and along the way have played with all sorts of other musicians. It's allowed me to travel to other parts of the world and experience different cultures. For me, creating music is one of God's gifts that can be universally enjoyed. With the advent of modern technology, I finally purchased a recording studio for my home and put together a CD of some songs I've been ...
