This 1998 reissue contains 7 bonus tracks not on the original release. On Ian Dury's second outing with the Blockheads, the strangely charismatic British singer continues to spout witty narratives in his trademark Cockney accent over ... Full Descriptiona musical backdrop that largely eschews punk in favor of a disco vibe. Of course, this being the every-quirky Dury, the dance-floor feel on this 1979 record is loose and pub-oriented, rather than slick and club-ready. Despite the New Wave trappings, Dury still sounds like a surly traveling salesman from a long-lost era, especially when he's spewing out insults, as on the silly, swaggering "Uneasy Sunny Day Hotsy Totsy." In addition to jaunty tracks such as "Inbetweenies," the 1998 remastered reissue of DO IT YOURSELF features a handful of classic Dury singles as bonus tracks, most notably the cheeky "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick" and the whimsical "Reasons to Be Cheerful, Part 3," making this, along with NEW BOOTS AND PANTIES, an essential disc for any respectable Dury fan.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Do It Yourself album
$34.29 Digitally remastered by Jim Jordan and Roddy Hui (Big Apple).
From his membership in the Velvet Underground, to his production of the Stooges and Patti Smith, to his iconoclastic solo albums, John Cale has always been at the cutting edge of rock & roll. In 1979, his music reflected both his personal troubles and the sinewy fury of the emerging punk scene on both sides of the Atlantic. SABOTAGE was recorded live at CBGB's, then a mecca for the New York rock underground, with a band of young upstarts whose raw edge serves Cale well.
With fierce, brutal rockers like "Mercenaries," "Dr. Mudd," and the title track, Cale seems intent on purging his inner demons by confronting the audience with the demons of the world, his voice a virtual weapon. The only respite from the assault comes with the wistful "Only Time Will ...

| Faces Five Guys Walk Into A Bar CDs (2004) Remastered; Box Set
Do It Yourself songs
$50.95 Released at a time when lead singer Rod Stewart was exploring the Great American Songbook, the music presented on FIVE GUYS WALK INTO A BAR... reinforces the argument that the Faces were one of rock's great overlooked bands. The quintet's ease around a bar never diminished the organic musicianship that found them easily melding their love of rock & roll, blues, and soul.
Fueled by Ron Wood's stellar guitar work, Ian McLagan's fluid keyboard playing, and the rock-solid rhythm section of Ronnie Lane and Kenney Jones, the Faces shared space with Stewart's burgeoning solo career, but still managed to crank out four excellent studio albums in less than six years. Not only are these records all included in their entirety in this four-disc collection, but the band's official output is practically doubled here by way of numerous live BBC performances, alternate versions, and rehearsal tapes. Along with the soaring passion of "Flying," fall-down raucousness ...
| | Lucinda Williams Live @ The Fillmore West CDs (2005) Digipak
Do It Yourself album
$15.89 Never one to tread the expected path, Lucinda Williams followed her big breakthrough album, CAR WHEELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD, with a pair of low-key records full of sad, quiet, fragile songs (interrupted by the occasional barn-burner). LIVE @ THE FILLMORE concentrates heavily on those latter two releases, unleashing all the intense, burning emotions that lay at their core, making plain the inherent frisson lurking below the surface of such ostensibly laconic tunes ...

$12.15 SKETCHES FOR MY SWEETHEART THE DRUNK is a posthumous release of the material Jeff Buckley was working on before his death in 1997. Disc One includes the studio sessions for what would have been his second album, produced by Tom Verlaine. Disc Two includes Buckley's 4-track home recordings of works-in-progress, plus a live recording from the studio of WFMU.
The CD-Extra version of SKETCHES FOR MY SWEETHEART THE DRUNK contains all the tracks on the original album along with a collage of photos, artwork, and lyrical excerpts and clippings from Jeff's notebooks.
"Everybody Here Wants You" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.
We'll never know for sure what artistic heights Jeff Buckley might have gone on to reach, since he was taken from us so obscenely early, with only time enough to complete one album and begin work on a second. With the help of SKETCHES, though, we can make some educated guesses. This double-disc, lovingly assembled by Buckley's friends, colleagues and family, gathers together both his studio efforts and home 4-track demos for the album he was trying to complete up until his ...
