| | Bob Marley Babylon By Bus CD (1978) Remastered
Gogosentai Boukenger & Super Sentai CD music
$11.75 Recorded live in Paris, France; Copenhagen, Denmark; London, England & Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Originally released on Island (11).
Remastered by Ted Jensen (2001, Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Capturing Bob Marley and the Wailers at their creative peak, BABYLON BY BUS is a righteously grooving collection of recordings from the group's 1978 European tour. An excellent companion to 1975's JAH LIVE, BABYLON BY BUS includes energetic versions of several tracks from the classic 1977 album EXODUS as well as a sprinkling of earlier material. The album is a textbook study in reggae's sultry rhythmic power, and the Barrett Brothers (Aston "Family Man" Barrett on bass and Carlton on drums) demonstrate throughout why they are regarded as one of the most influential rhythm sections of all time. Although the majority of Marley's material is intensely political, the music is so full of light, space and subtle dynamics that the worries of the world seem to be instantly replaced by an overwhelming urge to dance. Often audibly whipping the crowd into a joyful frenzy, Marley and company present a fine example of live music- making at it's ...
| | Pantera Official Live: 101 Proof CD (1997)
Gogosentai Boukenger & Super Sentai music CDs
$6.39 "Cemetery Gates" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
After seven long years of almost non-stop touring, Pantera personally chose these 16 songs as the creme de la creme, the definitive live Pantera experience. All well and good, we can only hope the folks up front had kneepads and mouthpieces, because this is not for the faint of heart. This is incendiary thrash metal; full-speed-ahead sonic mayhem, from the churning grunge of "Becoming" to the jackhammer assault of "Hostile." "New Level," the disc's opener, ...

| | Man Man Six Demon Bag CD (2006)
Gogosentai Boukenger & Super Sentai album
$11.99 The quirky East Coast indie rock quintet Man Man give their Surrealist and vaudevillian tendencies full rein on their second full-length release. Some of their songs, like "Engrish Bwudd," sound like (OK, are) nursery rhymes; others, like "Young Einstein on the Beach" conjure a more manic Danielson Famile.
Man Man: Los Blanco (vocals, guitar, cello, clarinet, trumpet, horns, piano, marimba); ...
| | Steel Pulse True Democracy CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Gogosentai Boukenger & Super Sentai CD music
$8.49 The opener, "Chant a Psalm," invokes the names of biblical figures and puts the listener on notice of the album's conscious, spiritually minded tone. There are classic Rasta themes, such as "Worth His Weight in Gold," a song based on the teachings of Marcus Garvey, and songs that overtly address social and political issues. "A Who Responsible?" takes on the history of racial injustice, "Leggo Beast" is an indictment of prostitution, and "Man No Sober" looks at alcoholism. Yet for all its seriousness, TRUE DEMOCRACY has a light, danceable vibe, exemplified in the party anthem "Ravers," one of Steel Pulse's best tunes. Though sometimes overlooked in favor of the early Island albums, this is one of the band's most consistent and enjoyable releases. The 2005 Rhino reissue includes previously unreleased dub and 12" versions of album tracks.
This 1982 release, Steel Pulse's first for Elektra, marks the band's move toward a more buoyant, pop-inflected sound. ...

| | Click Money & Muscle CD (2001)
Gogosentai Boukenger & Super Sentai songs
$15.25 MONEY & MUSCLE offers some hard-hitting hip-hop from an outfit that's got enough experience (not to mention collective skill) to present fresh rhymes and beats without abandoning rap verities. E-40, B-Legit, Celly Cell, and Suga T are all powerful performers in and of themselves, but when they pool they powers under the guise of The Click, it makes for a situation in which the whole is truly greater than its component parts. From "The Dope Track" to "I Mean ...
