(1 Customer Review)
Culture Club were one of the biggest pop bands of the 80s, racking up seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK and 9 Top 10 singles in the US. Central to the band's appeal was the flamboyant front man Boy George, whose cross-dressing and heavy make-up created an image which was completely unique on the pop scene. Although they drew influence from the new romantic movement, Culture Club were also inspired by the music and fashion of Northern Soul, which helped to create a broader appeal. This collection features remixes of some of their most memorable work and is another example of the timeless, ever popular sound of the '80s. 14 tracks. EMI Gold. 2006. Remix Collection MP3 Album
$16.05 FUN HOUSE sounds like an extended, guttural war cry from deep within the psyche. While the Stooges' excellent debut, produced by John Cale, had a clean, punchy sound that introduced the band's ragged, stripped-down rock, it did not capture the chaotic fury of the band's live spirit. The Stooges hired Don Gallucci (formerly of the Kingsmen) to produce FUN HOUSE, and he gave the album a murky, swampy ambience that lacks clarity and precision, yet compensates for that lack tenfold with immediacy and a staggering sonic punch in the gut. And where THE STOOGES can sound like bratty teenaged music, this album sounds grown up, menacing, mercurial, dark, ...

$14.15 Heineken, Van Gogh, Kraak & Smaak. The three most famous things to come out of Holland. Ever. In that order. Ok so maybe a bit of an exaggeration but the last three years have been an incredible ride for the band considered to be Hollands most credible export and as they gear up for the release of their second album things seem set to get even crazier. After touring the planet in support of their debut album and remixing all their peers and heroes, the time came for the band to start recording their second album. "The goodwill we got from our first album opened some doors for us" says Mark "We wanted to write with the people who are in the band as the core of the album but we also had met some people along the way who had got us excited and it was great that when we contacted them they wanted to work with us. Weve got a killer track with Ben Westbeech on vocals which is lined up as the first proper single from the new album and another that we wrote with Mark Brydon from Moloko as the second. Weve got vocal tracks with Rose and Ro in the bank and a killer track with rapper Dudley Perkins from Stones Throw who weve had respect for for a long time". "The ...
