Purchase Sinister Barrier CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Dream Theater Black Clouds & Silver Linings CDs (2009) Special Edition
Sinister Barrier album
$19.34 Special Edition CD includes the full album, a CD of instrumental mixes of the album and a CD of six cover songs.
Dream Theater's tenth long-player is about as dense and challenging as any album in the band's discography and emphasizes not only the virtuoso members' stupefying musicianship, but also their most aggressive and thoroughly metallic songwriting tendencies. The sixteen-minute opener "A Nightmare to Remember" quickly establishes this agenda via frequently thrash-paced staccato riffing, some of John Petrucci's most blistering guitar solos ever, and the return of drummer Mike Portnoy's syncopated growls, which provide contrast for singer James LaBrie's soaring melodic elegance. "The Count of Tuscany" is a heady prog-metal magnum opus brimming with more ideas, notes, and time changes over 19 minutes than most bands bother with over a ten album career. In fact, "Whither," a tender ballad and mere babe at five minutes in length, is the album's only concession to commerce. Black Clouds & Silver Linings, for ...
| | Michael Jackson Bad CD (1987) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Sinister Barrier CD music
$10.89 Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
Jackson's domination of the world record market continued following Thriller, although by comparison it was an almighty flop with only 12 million sales. As Pink Floyd and Dire Straits have proved, one album can go completely sales haywire without necessarily being any better. The title track and the gorgeous "Man In The Mirror" were substantial hits, but quality material such as "Dirty Diana" and "Liberian Girl" bolster a strong album. Jackson also seemed to have found the romance he seeks in "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" and "The Way You Make Me Feel." Regardless of his press, history clearly shows that he has made a lot of people very, very happy.
Additional Tracks
Recorded at Westlake Audio Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic (40600).
Personnel includes: Michael Jackson (vocals); Stevie Wonder (vocals, keyboards); The Winans (vocals); David Williams, Eric Gale, Steve Stevens, Bill Bottrell, Dann Huff, ...

| | Kings Of Leon Only By The Night CD (2008)
Sinister Barrier songs
$14.35 With their raw, organic sound, Tennessee's Kings of Leon emerged in 2003 as Southern rock for the indie-garage set, sort of a Strokes for the South. While there were hints of a new direction on their third album, BECAUSE OF THE TIMES, its follow-up, ONLY BY THE NIGHT, follows through with a near-reinvention of the Kings' sound. ONLY BY ...

Sinister Barrier CD music
$12.95 Finnish power-metal stalwarts Stratovarius have been kicking around since the 1980s, undergoing many personnel changes along the way, but their twelfth album, POLARIS, is the first without guitarist Timo Tolkki, who left the band before they embarked on this project. Other than that, things seem to be status quo in Stratovariusland, as the album ...

| | Triumph The Insult Comic Dog Come Poop With Me CD (2003) With DVD
Sinister Barrier CD music
$12.25 Straight from the set of LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN comes Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, everyone's favorite cigar-chomping, put-down-slinging canine puppet. Mixing live stand-up performances with lewd songs, crank calls, and star-studded sing-alongs, COME POOP WITH ME features Triumph at his raunchiest.
During the course of POOP, Triumph attempts to solicit sex at a local kennel, extols the virtues of dog self-love, waxes nostalgic for the days of truly dirty "blue" comedy, and duets with Jack Black, Adam Sandler, and other famous (and not-so-famous) friends. Before launching into an anti-cat song with guest star Conan O'Brien, Triumph sums up the whole affair by warning: "For those of you that think that the show has been a little randy up 'til now...a little dirty...a little filthy...I just want to apologize, because it's about to get worse." And it does get randier, dirtier, and filthier, making this a very adult-oriented comedy album that ends on the hilarious pop-culture-skewering "I Keed," a hip-hop-inflected list of all the people and places that this insult-flinging mutt would like "to poop on."
From Late Night With Conan O’Brien to the VMA’s on MTV, Triumph The Insult Comic Dog has pooped his way to stardom. Now Triumph debuts on album with Come Poop With Me, a doggie bag of filthy and hilarious new songs, sketches and interviews, featuring ...
| | Pretty Things SF Sorrow CD (1968) (Import) Import; Japan
Sinister Barrier music CDs
$49.89 Digitally remastered by Mark St. John and Andy Pearce (Masterpiece Mastering).
The Pretty Things' SF SORROW includes "She Says Good Morning."
The Japanese limited edtion remaster comes with paper sleeve.
One of the great lost classics of the psychedelic rock era, S.F. SORROW was recorded at the same time (and in the same studio with the same engineer) as SGT. PEPPER and PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN, and is on par with both. Unfortunately, the commercial fate of the album (and the group) wasn't as rosy as that of its peers, but that doesn't diminish S.F. SORROW'S quality or historical importance. The record marked an important turning point for the Pretty Things, who began as a Stones-ish R&B band, but by this time were ready to take the leap that a sudden personnel change made easier.
The band launched itself whole-heartedly into a more sophisticated style, both musically and lyrically. S.F. SORROW was even more of a concept album than SGT. PEPPER; in fact, thematically the songs hold together a lot better here. The theme concerns the life and times of a British everyman, and the songs are very much in the SGT. PEPPER mold, with production touches and vocal harmonies (not to mention song structures) very much in the Beatles vein, but it was a sound the Pretty Things arrived at more or less independently. Adding to the import of this release is the addition of some excellent, previously unreleased tracks.
Japanese reissue of the British Invasion act's 1968 rock opera album, based on a short story by lead vocalist Phil May, is packaged in a miniature LP gatefold sleeve & features 20 tracks including 7 bonus tracks, 'Defecting Grey' (Acetate Version), ...
