| | Scorpions No. 1's CD Scorpions Discography of CDs
While the Scorpions have certainly had enough radio and MTV hits over the years to warrant an expansive "best-of" set (or in their case, countless "best-of" sets), to title such a collection of their's No. 1's is a bit of a headscratcher. And all because of one, teeny tiny reason -- the group hasn't scored numerous number one hits anywhere in the world (let alone 32 of 'em, which is how many selections are included here). But if you're willing to overlook that marketing flaw and you're on the hunt for a double-disc set of the group's more mainstream material, then 2006's No. 1's contains many Scorpions favorites. As expected, you'll find radio-ready rockers ("Rock You Like a Hurricane," "No One Like You," "Rhythm of Love"), as well as power ballad tear-jerkers ("Still Loving You," "Holiday," "Wind of Change"), plus lesser-known tracks ("Loving You Sunday Morning," "Coast to Coast," "Alien Nation"). But with there not being one single bloody track from the group's '70s output included (which was when the Scorpions were truly at their metallic peak), No. 1's is not one of the more comprehensive collections of these German rockers out there. ~ Greg Prato
Stunning import only 32-track 24-bit digitally remastered two CD set featuring all the biggest hits by this German hard rock outfit. Although they achieved international success in the '80s during the early years of MTV, they originally formed in 1969 and achieved success in their homeland a decade before breaking through in America and elsewhere. Includes 'Rock You Like A Hurricane', 'Winds Of Change', 'Still Loving You', 'Big City Night' and many more. More than any other Scorpions compilation on the market, No. 1's is the best of the best and the perfect introduction to the band's vast repertoire. EMI. 2006. No. 1's Review

One of the most glorious launches in history, the title track for the thrice-platinum The Final Countdown is so bombastically brilliant, such glorious garbage, that this nuclear hair assault could only spew from the vacuous '80s. But the full-tilt follow-up "Rock the Night" rules also: "You know it ain't easy/Running out of thrills." "Carrie" comes off a consummate butane ballad. Meanwhile, the rest of the disc packs so much power that Swedish superheroes Europe get away with all the processed pretension. In fact, the lofty ambition of "Danger on the Track," "Ninja," and "Cherokee" (each as tasty as its title) combines with heated drive and hot delivery to meld The Final Countdown into a ...

No. 1's songs
$11.75 Sue Thompson had two distinct phases in her career: the first as a teen pop vocalist, singing light, cutesy tunes (often written by John D. Loudermilk) perfect for a prom, the second as a lush country crooner, singing songs for housewives. Since Thompson had a thin, light voice, it was perfectly suited for the pop material, but tended to cut against the burnished countrypolitan productions, which is why her duets with Don Gibson work so well -- she provides a good counterpoint to his rich, warm voice. It can't quite be said that the teen pop and country-pop material function as good counterpoints ...

| | C Daniel Boling He Dreams CD (2009)
No. 1's CD music
$17.09 Daniel Boling has been a folksinger and songwriter here and there around the U.S. for over thirty years. He writes in a folk-influenced style and performs with finger-picked guitar and banjitar supporting a good, clear tenor voice. Daniel's songs tell great stories that cover the spectrum from funny to heartbreaking and all the territory in between - songs of family life, love, friendship, and joys and sorrows along the way. He describes his music as "Family Friendly Folk".Daniel's 4th CD, He Dreams, was released in April 2009 and features 13 new original songs. The recording is sparse with an almost live feel, but very clean. A few friends lent their musical talents to some of the tracks including Jack Williams, Meredith Wilder, Jim Schwar, Jimmy Abraham, and Suzanne Shelton. His 3rd CD, The Old International, was released in June, 2003 and features a supporting cast of dear friends from the road including Bill Ward, T.R. Ritchie, Still on the Hill, Dave Nachmanoff, Susan Clark, Orrin Star and a few more. Along with his previous releases, Welcome Home in 2000 and Perfectly Stable in 1999, the album is enjoying air play in a variety of U.S. radio markets as well as in Europe. A lot of folks have found Daniel's music on the internet too, making his song Flight 93 the #1 Folk and World Folk song on MP3 in October, 2001. Recent songwriting honors include: *1st Place Winner, Woody ...
