(1 Customer Review)
In-Grid was named after the famous film star, Ingrid Bergman. She began singing locally in her native Northern Italy and soon got a reputation for her great stage presence and the energy and colour of her voice. Producers Larry Pignagnoli and Marco Soncini invited her to sing on a couple of ideas they were working on in the studio, and the massive "You Promised Me" was born - hitting #1 in Greece, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Russia and Top 10 in Australia. The debut album "Rendez-Vous" was a smash in Germany, Europe, South Africa, Australia & the US. The release of her second album "Voila" is heralded by the irresistible single "Mama Mia". An album of Euro dance/pop with some classic pop hooks, this is sure to please old and new fans alike. Voila album
$9.99 Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the platinum-selling success of 2005's MONKEY BUSINESS, Black Eyed Peas have returned with THE E.N.D. (an acronym for "Energy Never Dies"), their third studio effort. Combining Will.I.Am's thumping 808 kick drum-infused beats with production assistance from a host of collaborators (including vocoder-loving Torontoians MSTRKRFT and ...

Voila music CDs
$8.29 Australian electro-pop outfit Cut Copy are among the legions of indie acts defecting en masse to the low-end thump of house music. While the patchwork quality of their debut, BRIGHT LIKE NEON LOVE, sounds like a band searching for an identity, their follow-up, IN GHOST COLOURS, ...
| | Madonna Ray Of Light CD (1998)
Voila songs
$5.99 RAY OF LIGHT won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Pop Album and for Best Recording Package, and was nominated for Album Of The Year. "Ray Of Light" won the 1999 Grammy for Best Dance Recording and Best Short Form Music Video, and was nominated for Record Of The Year.
Relentlessly contemporary, RAY OF LIGHT pairs Madonna with producer William Orbit, an electronics wizard who has worked with major R&B acts and even such modern rockers as Blur and Depeche Mode. Reportedly, Madonna tried to snare Liam Howlett of high-strung techno-rockers the Prodigy into the project--Howlett claims to have turned her down. But the more dextrous, less in-your-face Orbit was probably a better choice anyway. He provides a dizzying array of soundscapes, incorporating everything from psychedelic-rock guitar to dub-reggae echo and cold, cutting techno beats for what critics are calling Madonna's most committed performance in years.
From the slow chill of the album's first single, "Frozen," to the disco-like title track, RAY OF LIGHT finds Madonna embracing the club beats that are her roots while still teetering on the edge of dance-club vogue. It also finds the singer, who has become a mother since her last studio album, in a long-untapped spiritual mode. When the inevitable comparisons are made to Madonna's previous standard-bearer, 1989's LIKE A PRAYER, that may well be the reason.

| | Immortal Technique 3rd World CD (2008)
Voila album
$12.25 Immortal Technique, the most radical revolutionary rap lyricist to hit wax, combines with Green Lantern and a gang of like-minded MCs to produce THE 3RD WORLD, a furious mixtape which is perhaps Immortal Technique's best work to date. The title track is a compelling summary of all the Harlem rapper has proclaimed in his past verses, as he reworks Jay-Z's "Where I'm From" into a scathing diagnosis of the state of the world in the 21st century. Tech also breaks down the power structures behind NYC gentrification ...
| | Chicago Story: The Complete Greatest Hits 1967-2002 CDs (2003) Import
Voila CD music
$23.29 This is a two-disc, 39-track anthology of hits by jazzy soft-rock icons Chicago.
For years, if you wanted a comprehensive Chicago hits collection, your choices were slim. 1975's single-disc/eleven-track collection, Greatest Hits (Chicago IX) remained your best bet, but it only included tracks from the group's beginning to the mid-'70s (without question their best years). On the other hand, if it was Chicago's power ballad direction of the '80s you were after, your only choice was 1989's Greatest Hits: 1982-1989. The very first collection to finally combine both eras together turned out to be the long overdue 2002 double disc from Rhino, The Very Best Of: Only the Beginning. So why another double-disc set comprised of the same exact material appeared only a year later, Chicago Story: The Complete Greatest Hits 1967-2002, is quite baffling. Of course, there's no denying the greatness of such selections as "Saturday in the Park," a 'new edit' of "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?," "Beginnings" -- but unfortunately, the aforementioned 'lighter' ...

Voila music CDs
$14.29 Nestled between two censorship cases, 2 Live Crew's 1988 sophomore album, MOVE SOMETHIN', did not ignite an uproar like the albums before or after; however, it captures the Miami foursome led by Luke on its ascent to booty juggernaut. While the hip-hop outfit was mostly known for its playfully offensive ...
