| | Dr Dre Chronicles: Death Row Classics CD Dr Dre Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
Mammothly influential producer and the Godfather of G-Funk, producer/rapper Dr. Dre's best work was on the Death Row label. It was there where he released the West Coast's greatest album, The Chronic, and where he turned a scrappy unknown named Snoop Doggy Dogg into one of the biggest hip-hop stars ever. You just can't call yourself a serious rap fan unless there's a copy of both The Chronic and Snoop's Doggystyle in your collection, and if there is, you're going to overlap this collection considerably. You're really going to get into some serious overlapping if you bought 2002's Dre collection Chronicle: Best of the Works, since the like-titled Chronicles differs by only five cuts. Still, this is amazing G-funk, and putting lesser-known nuggets like the great "Afro Puffs" by the Lady of Rage next to the big hits only makes it sweeter. The artwork here is better than the 2002 release, the liner notes are well done and informative, and if you need a portable collection of Dre's production work, then go for it. If you're keeping up your hip-hop classics, there's not a whole lot here you'll need, and through single-track downloading, you can take care of that for only a couple bucks. ~ David Jeffries Chronicles: Death Row Classics Music Dr Dre Chronicles: Death Row Classics Songs Chronicles: Death Row Classics Music Chronicles: Death Row Classics Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) It's on and poppin'... With 2001, Dr. Dre has managed to do the seemingly impossible: resurface yet again after a five-year disappearance from the rap game, and shatter all expectations. The first two tracks lull the listener into thinking this is going to be a mellow, G-funk outing, but when the piano loop and beat commence in "Still D.R.E.," it's obvious Dre is still light years ahead of the rest. The seemingly disparate styles of guest artists MC Ren, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem are all unified by Dre's singular ...

| | Motley Crue Red White & Crue CD (2005)
Chronicles: Death Row Classics album
$33.75 In the 1980s Motley Crue established themselves as heavy metal's reigning bad boys. If Elvis Presley's debauchery was merely suggested by his swiveling hips, and Led Zeppelin's was mythologized at teenage basement parties, Motley Crue's wanton excesses were celebrated right out in public for everyone to see. Combining the over-the-top theatrics and pop-savvy instincts of Kiss and Alice Cooper with the gutter-boy sass of the New York Dolls and the Sex Pistols, the Crue forged a new brand of stripped-down, radio-friendly hard rock that came to define the "pop-metal" (or "hair-metal") genre.
RED, WHITE & CRUE collects the band's greatest moments in grand style, including the lean, razor-sharp guitar and vocal hooks of the breakthrough hit "Looks That Kill" and the shout-along chorus ...
