| | Strange Folk CD (2006)
Horror Movie Hits-Trance Best- songs
$13.69 Strange Folk is an enjoyable if genuinely spaced-out 19-song collection, all representative of a body of English folkies from across four decades who didn't care one whit about maintaining traditions or otherwise adhering to rules. Not surprisingly, Donovan (doing "The Song of the Wandering Aengus" from HMS Donovan), Pentangle, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Vashti Bunyan, Barry Dransfield, the Incredible String Band, and Forest will be the most familiar names here, their work comprising the most accessible tracks on this CD -- others are of more recent vintage, including the psychedelic-folk ensemble the Espers, and the progressive folk/electronica-based septet Tunng (utilizing some more calculated studio- and sound-effects generated accompaniment), and they're only slightly less appealing. There's also one delightful surprise here for fans of the movie The Wicker Man in the form of "Maypole," the fertility hymn sung by the children in the ...

$17.09 Daniel LaBrash resides in the very scenic Hockley Valley area in Ontario where he is well known as a composer, free-lance guitarist and guitar teacher. Daniel's writing reflects his delight and appreciation of his lush surroundings. The nearby meadow and forests have inspired the music for "Nature's Play". Susan Piltch lives in Toronto where she freelances as a flutist and pianist, and contracts her own ensembles for background music engagements. Her first composition "Out of the Shadows" was written for this CD with Daniel and was inspired by a comment ...

Horror Movie Hits-Trance Best- album
$12.99 If you´re looking for some real metal music in the likes of Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Pantera, Hatebreed, In Flames etc.. Look no Further! From Iceland comes one of the heaviest, ugliest, loudest and most brutal bands they have got to offer. Pure intensity and raw energy are the key elements in our music and what our fans have come to expect!Hostile is:Asgeir - VocalsJonni - GuitarArmann - BassVilhelm - GuitarElvar - Drums-------The StoryThe story behind Hostile started on a dark and rainy night in 2004.2 handsome men met in an old fishing parlor down by the harborin Reykjavík. They were on a quest for what they thougt was missingin the Icelandic music landscape…A band that could play heavy and fast but still be catchy and fun. They immidiately started searching for the right people to join the band.It took almost 1 and a half year but all of the bad auditions wereworth it! Jonni and Elvar were able to find :Bassplayer with a temper of a Sealion,a nose for trouble, and an healty appetite for alcohol. A man we would come to call the model.Singer with some unresolved issues and a problem with going to rehearsals. The man we call “The Diva”.And finally a guitar player with fingers fast and acurate as a computer and the laughter of an insane cartoon caracter. When the formation of the band was completed then it was the formality of writing some songs. It was a difficult process since no one in the band could stand the smell of eachother but somehow they were able to create some killer music with as much anger to the world as they had for one another.Playing the local bar scene didn´t seem so dumb since most of the members spend more time there then at their homes. It didn´t take long for the people in Iceland to take notice and Hostile was playing almost everywhere where metalheads are able to get together without getting a tan treatment.Places like Grand Rokk, Eistnaflug, TÞM, Bar 11.Then Elvar, but not without a severe hangover, came with an idea of going to the studio and record a small portion of the songs they had written. They had ...
