This is a DualDisc, which contains a CD on one side of the disc and a DVD on the other. On 2006's LIMON Y SAL, popular Mexican singer-songwriter Julieta Venegas builds on the buoyant pop of her highly successful '03 album, SI. "Me Voy" ... Full Descriptionsets the disc's sunny tone, with shimmering guitar lines and steady rhythms, while the title track coasts along on a shuffling beat, allowing Venegas's full-bodied voice to shine. Although longtime fans might be disappointed that the performer didn't return to her Rock en Espanol roots on this outing, LIMON Y SAL stands as one of Venegas's most consistent and immediately enjoyable offerings.
This dualdisc contains 10+ new songs on the CD side, produced by Cachorro Lopez, compsed by Julieta, with 3 songs written by Coti Sorokin. The DVD side includes the entire 13-track album in 5.1 surround sound and images from the making of the album.

Limón Y Sal is some fine Latin alternative pop, Julieta style. There's energy and honesty, and honest energy, in every track. This is grown-up music, with a sense of playfulness. If you're a fan of Shakira's pre-peroxide music (Pies Descalzos and Donde Estan Los Ladrones), you will love this album. Guaranteed.

These one is better than the last Cd she did, and if you have the Si cd of Julieta Venegas I didn't think it could be topped 12 of the 14 songs are great not counting the Video and documentary included, you will not regret these purchase.

This was a long awaited cd for me, and it was totally worth the wait. she keeps proving why she is considered one of the most talented singer/songwriter from Mexico. If you liked the previous CD "SI" you'll be amazed with "Limon Y Sal". i really recommend this album

Whereas Mexican alt-rocker Julieta Venegas's previous outings could be characterized as moody and intense, SI is a collection of unabashedly bright pop songs about the wonders of love. (The cover art, which shows Venegas posing coyly in a wedding dress against a pink background, is a fair indication of the pop confections within). But the album has much more substance than a piece of wedding cake. Irresistible pop craft and melodic hooks are couched in inventive, smartly constructed instrumental arrangements, while the whole is wrapped in clean, breezy, ear-pleasing production.

Looking to go down the vocal-diva-becomes-movie-star path blazed by Diana Ross, Madonna, and Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey teamed with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis to executive produce the soundtrack to her film debut. When MY AIM IS TRUE was released in 1977, no one knew that the character on the cover, with coke-bottle glasses, ill-fitting clothes, and Jerry Lewis posture would become a pop-culture icon. Elvis Costello arrived as the uber-geek, hell-bent on blowing away years of macho rock posturing with his revenge-of-the-nerds image and sharp, snappy sound, instantly defining New Wave. In retrospect, the songs--with echoes of everything from the Band ("Blame It on Cain") to the Byrds ("[The Angels Wanna Wear My] Red Shoes")--owed more to rootsy pub-rock than it did to punk, but it was still miles beyond the hairy-chested blues-rock theatrics bogging down the airwaves in the mid-'70s.
