| | James Figurine Mistake Mistake Mistake Mistake CD James Figurine Discography of CDs
On his initial solo outing as James Figurine, electronica artist Jimmy Tamborello--also known as Dntel, one half of the Postal Service, and one third of Figurine--unveils a collection of minimalist, groove-centric synth-pop tunes. MISTAKE, Tamborello's first major undertaking since the Postal Service's hugely popular GIVE UP, finds him scaling back the former album's catchy melodies in favor a more rhythmic, dance-floor-oriented sound, as revealed on the pulsing, cell-phoned-themed "55566688833." While numerous guests turn up, including Jenny Lewis, the record's standout track, "All the Way to China," features the easy-going vocals of Erlend Oye (Kings of Convenience), resulting in a sprightly tune that wouldn't sound out of place on one of Oye's own solo releases. Although it doesn't reach the great heights of Tamborello's Postal Service work, MISTAKE succeeds in mining an enjoyably grounded electro-vein.
Personnel include: Erlend Oye (vocals); John Tejada (guitar, sound effects).
Additional personnel: Sonya Westcott, Jenny Lewis (vocals).
CMJ (p.4) - "The record is Tamborello's most ambient, as he manipulates the ethereal voices of his guest vocalists so their glassy tones are gracefully woven into the mix..." | | Paula Language Of Love CD (2006)
Mistake Mistake Mistake Mistake
$9.59 Everybody who knows her personally and professionally knows that Paula has an unsaturated passion for both music and people. Her music speaks of love in all of its faces and facets, good or bad, right or wrong. Things people say, do and experience as a result thereof, is her key inspiration. She tells it like it is simply because in love, as in life, there are no shortcuts...She started her music career at the age of 5 by banging out notes on glasses of water filled at different levels. By the age of 10 she competed in Eisteddfods and proved she had a voice to be reckoned with when she won a silver diploma despite a severe laryngitis attack a few weeks before the competition. At 15 she suffered such severe damage to her vocal cords after another laryngitis attack that no one thought she would ever be able to sing again. But she wouldn't accept the inevitable. Without any professional training in music, she discovered the world of composing to be a worthy substitute. By the age of 30 she has composed enough material (country rock / ballad style) to put together almost 10 full original albums. With so much material at her disposal, she was determined to release at least one album of her own and started developing her voice again.January 2001 she took on the biggest challenge of her life and started working with Elfhaven Productions in Johannesburg on her debut album at her own cost, time and pace. February 2002 saw the birth of the demo album "From ...

Mistake Mistake Mistake Mistake
$15.19 SHORTY&SLIM is a pleasing blend of Calypso, Reggae, and Caribbean sounds with a touch of Rock-n-Roll, and has best been described as “Canal Zone Folk Music”!! Conceived in a Gamboa living room in 1992 and later captured on 4 CD productions, (Life on Mango Street ‘95, Gone Platano ‘97, ‘Tird One ‘99, and Down to Panama ‘06) it is written all about Panama and the Canal Zone by Panamanian Zonians, and it’s the only musical production of its kind to truly capture the sights, sounds and experiences of living in or visiting the beautiful Paradise of Panama and the Canal Zone. It is Original, feel-good music that will make you laugh, cry and remember the days. TIRD ONE (Baysian pronunciation for "Third") is just that: Shorty&Slim's third release. It was recorded once again at nights and on long weekend sessions (Alex was working in Colon again) and amongst ...
