The summer 2006 action flick WAIST DEEP follows 02 (Tyrese Gibson) as he robs banks with the help of Coco (Meagan Good) to raise money to pay the ransom for his kidnapped son. The film's soundtrack has a vibe that matches the movie's stylish, high-octane energy, and features some of the hottest hip-hop sounds of the early-2000s.
Ghostface Killah (his "Be Easy" is one of the album's highlights), Ice Cube, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are among the heavyweights on the soundtrack, but there are some notable up-and-comers as well. The slowed-down, Southern-style bounce of "Hey" by Dub and Young S. is designed to make jeep speakers rattle, while the ragga-inflected R&B of Black Buddafly and Fabolous's "Bad Girls" brings a welcome female voice to the mix. In addition to complementing the film, the WAIST DEEP soundtrack is a fine hip-hop mix.

Waist Deep Soundtrack album
$8.99 The fourth album by urban R&B artist Donell Jones rivals his 2002 commercial breakthrough, LIFE GOES ON. There are no radical stylistic departures here, which is a good thing for Jones fans. JOURNEY OF A GEMINI is a solid urban contemporary effort, suffused in equal measure with the ...

Waist Deep Soundtrack music CDs
$10.15 "Get You Right," a smooth throwback ballad from Miami outfit Pretty Ricky's debut, BLUESTARS, features a hardcore rap that name-checks 1990s groups H-Town and Jodeci. While the four youthful brothers of Pretty Ricky were likely in grade school when these artists had their hits, it's a fitting reference; the quartet's sound reveals an innate feel for the New Jack Swing sound of that time. This approach is evident in both the record's production and its raw sensuality, and the overall vibe is updated with a Dirty South ...

$9.89 DEMI-CENTENNIAL was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance.
During her very rich Concord years, which resulted in a renaissance for the veteran singer, Rosemary Clooney was generally featured singing swing standards with a jazz rhythm section, tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton, and (in the early days) cornetist Warren Vaché. But by the early '90s, Clooney was being heard more often than not in orchestral settings. This CD celebrates her first 50 years in show business. Although she does not re-create her hits, the 16 songs that Clooney chose to sing on this interesting set signify different periods of her life. ...

Waist Deep Soundtrack CD music
$12.29 Music played a pivotal role in Paul Feig and Judd Apatow's cult classic television series Freaks and Geeks, not only underscoring the emotions in each episode but capturing the show's early-'80s setting perfectly. There's a reason why the producers insisted on spending extra money on music licensing to ensure that the original soundtrack was on the DVD release -- stripping the Who's "I'm One" from the scene when Bill watches TV after school by himself or taking XTC's "No Language in Our Lungs" out of the scene where he's picked last for gym class would change the meaning and effect of these sequences; it would be like taking "Layla" out of ...
