He is a professor of Medical Physics at Yo San University of Chinese Medicine.Joe was born and raised in Chicago. Because of his aptitude for applied sciences, he chose to study metallurgical engineering in college. However, his passion throughout his teenage and early adult years was music. Upon receiving his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, IL in 1995, Joe decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a professional musician. While working a number of odd jobs as he tried to establish his musical career, which included a three year stint as an aerospace engineer, Joe came to the realization that the music industry was not the dream he had anticipated. During this same time period, he became increasingly more interested in Eastern spiritual practices and began practicing Hatha yoga, going on to become a yoga instructor in 1999. Despite his daily yoga practice, Joe was plagued by recurring headaches, and so visited an acupuncturist at the urging of a fellow yoga practitioner. He was delighted to discover such a comprehensive and all embracing field as Oriental Medicine, and realized soon after receiving his first treatment that he had been led to his calling. Joe began his formal studies at Emperor's College of TOM in January, 1998. Apart from Oriental medicine, Joe enjoys hiking, cooking, and practicing yoga, and, of course, playing music.CREDITS:=======Produced by: Drew Amavisca and Joseph CurcioEngineer: Drew AmaviscaGraphics: abe designChinese Introductions: Dr. Xiuling Ma Ph.D. M.D. China L.Ac.English introductions: Joseph CurcioMusical performance: Joseph CurcioRecorded at Tunes On Tangs And Songs On Sans Music | 1. | Ma Huang Tang, Gui Zhi Tang, And Ge Gen Tang |
