| | Frank Lee Sprague Cavern CD Frank Lee Sprague Discography of CDs
Wichita Falls Records Announces new LP by Frank Lee SpragueEnter the CAVERNHollywood, December 7th 2005 "Authentic!" "Masterful!" "A celebration!" Critics and fans raved over Frank Lee Sprague's 2004 album, Merseybeat. Now, his highly anticipated sequel, Cavern, is available from Wichita Falls Records. While Merseybeat often channeled the sunnier side of the mid-sixties British Invasion, Cavern pulls us into the tense, sweaty atmosphere of Liverpool's famous beat club where a four- piece band captivates the audience with their electrifying brand of rock ‘n' roll. Cavern features thirteen all-new original Merseybeat songs, skillfully sung, played, arranged and produced by Frank Lee Sprague. The album leads off with an impressive 1-2-3 punch '" the irresistibly catchy "You'll Be Mine," the soaring, harmony-filled, "She's a Bad Memory," and the classic, all-out ferocious rocker, "Give it All You Can," a song and performance that would have made John Lennon proud. Other highlights abound. "She Lied" is the perfect single, combining an intense, passionate vocal with an absolutely mesmerizing arrangement and production. The follow-up single might be "You Missed Out on Me," a song that will surely propel the cellar dwellers to the dance floor. "I Believe" is a winsome, melodic ballad in the Paul McCartney mold, while "I Don't Love Her Anymore" has the feel of John Lennon's best work on Meet the Beatles. If Peter and Gordon had sat in with Buddy Holly, they might have come up with "Cavern," the jaunty and delightful album closer. But the show isn't over yet. The band roars back with an encore, a crazed, rocked up version of Cleveland Crochet's, "Sugar Bee."Known for his remarkable ability to synthesize authentic rock ‘n' roll styles into his own West Texas imprint, Frank Lee Sprague's work has wowed reviewers in Rolling Stone, Playboy, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, and many other magazines and newspapers. He has appeared on CBS nationwide television and National Public Radio, and has performed live around the world, including several successful tours of Japan. With two Merseybeat-style albums under his belt, he will perform live at the Cavern Club in Liverpool in spring 2006. Cavern is yet another jewel in this outstanding musician's career. As Cavern Club host Bob Wooler would say,"Remember all you cave dwellers, the Cavern is the best of cellars. We've got the hi-fi high and the lights down low, so here we go with the Frank Sprague show!" Frank Lee Sprague Cavern Songs | 1. | You'll Be Mine |

When the first volume of Johnny Cash's AMERICAN series appeared in 1994, it would have been difficult to predict its critical and commercial success, much less the fact that an illness-beset Cash would be turning out a powerful fourth installment of the series eight years later. Like its three predecessors, AMERICAN IV is a home-recorded, bare-bones Rick Rubin production wherein Cash tackles old classics by other writers as well as more contemporary tunes by artists from the rock world, with a smattering of his own new compositions thrown in. It's also arguably the strongest since the first volume.
Now that the novelty of hearing the Man in Black tackle tunes by the likes of Depeche Mode ("Personal Jesus") and Nine Inch Nails ("Hurt") has worn off, we can get past the gimmickry to fully appreciate ...
| | Bill Withers Plus Justments CD (1974)
Cavern album
$13.09 Back in March 2004 music magazine Mojo included Withers' fourth album on a list of "67 Lost Albums You Must Own." Whether 'Justments is indeed the stuff of legend remains debatable. Surely no holy grail like the similarly mentioned Cold Fact by Sussex labelmate Sixto Rodriguez, it seems at least unfairly ignored. Nothing here might be as compelling as "Grandma's Hands" or "I Can't Write Left-Handed," but there are plenty of melancholy reflections from a genuine soulman who came across more as a West coast singer/songwriter. Replacing the hired hands of his debut with former employees of Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band proved equally important in shaping Withers' identity. Not only had they been instrumental in creating a landmark with his second album Still Bill, follow-up Live at Carnegie Hall showed how easily they could replicate their unrestrained approach on-stage, performing quite a few tunes which hadn't yet appeared on a studio album. This experience further tightening a natural combination, ...
| | Field Music CD (2010) (Import) Measure; United Kingdom
Cavern CD music
$14.79 A lot happened to Field Music between the release of 2007's Tones of Town and 2010's Field Music (Measure). Most importantly, the brothers Brewis (David and Peter) decided to put the band on hiatus and start working on their own projects, the School of Language for David, The Week That Was for Peter. Both groups released excellent albums that had all the hallmarks of the Field Music sound (brainy arrangements, crisp playing, excellent songs) but were also slightly different from each other. The School of Language took an artier, more experimental approach, while the Week That Was made big, shiny pop music. In 2009, the brothers decided to regroup and start releasing music as Field Music again. The resulting double-album-length Measure is a seamless blend of the two brother's styles that will thrill fans of the group's previous work. Basically, the album sounds like it picks up exactly where Tones of Town left off, only the group sounds more confident and assured. The arrangements are more precise (which didn't seem possible), ...

Lysa has supported many cultural and community causes and her list of benefit concerts include performances for the homeless, education, the environment and the Zapatista struggle. As a solo artist, she has opened for the likes of Los Lobos, John Doe of L.A.'s legendary punk-band "X", Green Day, Victoria Williams, and Mexico's leading rock group, the Jaguares.Lysa has also joined L.A. punk pioneer Alice Bag to form Stay At Home Bomb in 2003. The idea for Stay at home bomb grew out of Alice's and Lysa's boredom with the state of music and the inability to keep a tidy home. Stay At Home Bomb's debut release is due out in April 2004 on Dionysus Records. Yet Lysa's talents are not confined to music. In 1997, she landed a starring role in the critically acclaimed indie-film Star Maps --a favorite at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival-- ...
