At the tender age of 6 years old, he began playing the drums and singing. One of his first recordings was at age 8 with family musicians at Arthur Smith Studios in Charlotte, N.C. Very shortly, Randy picked up the guitar and well the rest is pretty much history. Randy has traveled the nation with bands from all genres of music.....from Christian, rock, soul, country to beach, top 40, jazz and classical.....and has shared the stage with such Artists as The Spades, Bits & Pieces, The Steppe Brothers, City Kids, David Sandborn, Spyro Gyro, CC & Company, Station To Station, The Platters, The Coasters, The Fantastic Shakers, Con Hunley, Lee Greenwood, Hank Williams Jr., The Oak Ridge Boys, The Real Clays plus many others. As a result, Randy's music, as you can imagine is somewhat eclectic. He has performed studio sessions on many recording projects and has produced other projects as well. Randy's motto is "if you can hum it, I can play it!"Randy received his BA degree in music/guitar and a minor in percussion from the University Of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is president and owner of Music Consultants Entertainment, Inc. and Marcato Music Company. He books musical entertainment, operates a musical instrument retail shoppe and instructional studio, where he and his other teachers teach their many proteges.With his first solo album release, "Beyond This World" in 1999, Randy wrote all music, lyrics and produced the project. It was mastered by Nashville notable, Hank Williams of Master Mix.
