| | Kathy Corliss Appletree CD Kathy Corliss Discography of CDs
In 2002 Kathy Corliss released her debut album entitled Appletree. Shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with leukemia which cut her life and budding songwriting career short. Kathy left us with some incredible music which intensely reflects the human experience. From driving melodic rock to the title song Appletree which show her jazz influences, the album crosses over brilliantly. Her beautiful, sometimes haunting alto vocals and soulful music weave a story told in the poetic lyrics of this incredible album. Kathy wrote five more insightfully beautiful songs which have not yet been released. "Appletree is a legacy of love and tenderness. We may never know how brightly Corliss' star might have shone, but it did glimmer for a short while and will stay radiant in the hearts of the people who loved her." Lora Abcarian of the Bailey Flame. "Hypnotic moody pop in the Cowboy Junkies/KD Lang genre. Jeez - this song is at least 3db hotter than any song on GB - is Butch Vig in the band? Nice mood established. The vocalist makes this song - can't imagine the song without her. The changes at the end are kind of different, like a second middle-8 section that never gets back to the chorus or verse. Lyrics and delivery are on point with the subject matter - well composed, thoughtful lyrics. 1 - Backing Vocals - Terrific. 2 - Lead Vocals - Effective, evocative. You can tell she can re-create her performance live. 3 - Guitars - I like how the guitar resolves to a complimentary melody to the chorus. Playing is quite tasty." Appletree album
$16.00 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock & roll ballad "Speechless" -- its big guitars lifted from Noel Gallagher -- and the wonderful, perverse march "Teeth." Even the stuttering splices on "Telephone," a duet with Beyoncé, leans to the other side of the Atlantic, which just emphasizes the otherness that's become Gaga's calling card. And even as she's becoming omnipresent, with her songs mingling with those who co-opt her on the radio, she still is slightly skewed, willing to go so far over the top she goes beyond camp, yet still channeling it ...
| | Neil Young Dreamin' Man Live '92 CD (2009)
Appletree CD music
$14.44 Unlike previous entries in Neil Young's Archives series, Dreamin' Man Live '92 does not capture a specific gig. Instead, it's a compilation of highlights from the tour he took prior to recording Harvest Moon, as he aired the album's ten songs alone with his guitar (or on one occasion each, his piano and banjo). Although every one ...
| | Mariah Carey Merry Christmas CD (1994)
Appletree music CDs
$8.75 At this stage of her career Mariah Carey does not need to prove herself, but her voice is so powerful that with each new recording she, once again, reminds you: "Listen to what I can do." Vocal gymnastics and Christmas songs are not often thought of as a compatible combination, but on MERRY CHRISTMAS Mariah jumps, climbs, crawls, twirls and dashes her way through both traditional fare and original Christmas songs.
She shifts through styles, offering fans from all musical camps a gift of their own. Her "Silent Night" shows off a studied vocalization where liquid phrasing is key. "Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)" shows off a dynamic voice that is hard to match. She has fun with the Phil Spector goodie "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," a song straight out of '60s girl-group heaven. There is even a "Joy To The World" medley mixing the old and the new--the traditional Christmas song and the Three Dog Night hit. And, as usual, her gospel-voiced ...
| | Kiss Sonic Boom CDs (2009)
Appletree songs
$16.09 When SONIC BOOM was released, it had been over a decade since the last Kiss studio album, so expectations were understandably high. In addition, the intervening period had seen the band fire two of its founding members for the second time, only to replace them with sidemen wearing Ace Frehley and Peter Criss's iconic makeup. Luckily, the new additions, unlike some of Kiss's "un-masked years" members, have a good feel for classic Kiss. That fact, matched with Paul Stanley's assumption of production duties, makes SONIC BOOM one of the most consistent and thoroughly Kiss-sounding albums since the group's `70s heyday. That said, the New York City unit manages ...

| | Swingadelic Another Monday Night CD (2007)
Appletree songs
$16.45 Another Monday Night is the fourth CD release by Swingadelic, a fun and entertaining New York metro area 'Little Big Band'. These sessions came as the result of the band's Monday night performances at Maxwell's in Hoboken NJ. All but one tracks are original compositions and arrangements by various band members. The stand out is Ellington's 'The Gal From Joe's' that Swingadelic recorded for the soundtrack of 'Play It By Ear', a movie starring Michele Hurd and Rita Moreno. Bandleader and upright bassist Dave Post has assembled a first-rate, diverse and talented crew that sound like they are having a good time and communicate that feeling and spirit to the listener. The band features the talents of alto/tenor sax player Buddy Terry, veteran of the Ray Charles and Count Basie Orchestras, as well as the bands of Horace Silver and Art Blakey.Swingadelic has performed at Lincoln Center, NJPAC and the NYC BBQ, regional jazz & blues festivals and dances and concerts from Boston to Atlanta. Their previous three CD releases have received worldwide play and all titles can be purchased through CD. Baby . The band has appeared on several TV shows and music from Swingadelic has been featured in two films. The band maintains a web site at Swingadelic 'The strength of the orchestra is in the combined big band sound that shows plenty ...
