Brett Ratner has written and produced music featured on network television shows such as "Criminal Minds," "My Name is Earl," "Saving Grace," and "The Wedding Bells."Working with his songwriting/production partner, Derrick Procell, Brett has completed more than 40 commissioned tracks for companies such as Universal-MCA Music Publishing and Wild Whirled Music. Brett has also begun to compose and produce instrumental cues for publishing companies such as Global Graffiti and Scorekeepers Music. In the coming year, these works promise to feature heavily on cable networks such as MTV and HGTV. As guitarist and co-writer for Chicago-based singer/songwriter Monica da Silva, Brett hopes to be heard by the masses. Monica's self titled debut, produced and engineered by Grammy-nominated producer Rick Barnes, is slated for release in June of 2007. The 11-song CD also features performances by noted musicians Larry Beers (formerly of Sonia Dada and Crash Test Dummies), Jon Hill (of former MCA recording artists Homeless J), and former Island Records recording artist Nicholas Tremulis. A few tracks also feature Monica's brother, Bruce Driscoll, member of EMI recording artists Blondefire (formerly known as Astaire). To learn more, visit myspace /monicadasilvamusic. Brett's involvement with music transcends playing and recording. He is a former employee of Gibson Musical Instruments' Marketing and Artist Relations department. He has also been a contributing writer to publications such as Guitar Player, Musician, Electronic Musician, Music and Computers, harmonycentral , Music Row Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, The Nashville Tennessean, and The Nashville Scene. He also worked as a freelance publicity writer for several Nashville-based record labels. Brett prides himself on his ability to play in a wide variety of genres. Monica's music, for example, is hook-heavy indie pop with strong elements of electronica. His work with Derrick, meanwhile, centers around roots rock, southern rock, and country. Brett learned to play listening to Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Joe Satriani. As such, guitar-heavy, blues-based rock is his favorite. He is first and foremost an electric guitarist, but in his studio work, he routinely finds himself doubling on bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and even occasionally vocals."Brett Ratner's guitar can pierce like a stiletto or ooze like some sort of thick liquid (that's a compliment)." - Music Row Magazine, Nashville, Tennessee"Brett Ratner's fingers are quick on his guitar, and his feet are quick on his effects pedals - at times... it sounds like there's an entire guitar section." - The Daily Iowan, Iowa City, Iowa"Brett Ratner is one of the most engaging new acts in the area. Ratner's raw vocals combined with his straightforward, hard guitar playing create a passionate performance in the blues/folk tradition." - Chris Wolak, Borders Books and MusicBrett Ratner4521 N. Brett Ratner CD music

As is so often the case, the talents of singer Eva Cassidy did note come to public attention until after her death. Cassidy died at a mere 33 years of age in 1996, and up until then she'd only been known in the local music scene of Washington D.C. Subsequently, a word-of-mouth groundswell earned her posthumous popularity in England, which then wafted back over to the U.S. TIME AFTER TIME is a good introduction ...
| | Ronan Keating Destination CD (Import) Italy
Brett Ratner music CDs
$31.55 DESTINATION is a 2002 album by the pop performer Ronan Keating of the Irish group Boyzone.
Not since his days with Belinda Carlisle had writer and producer Rick Nowels invested as much of himself into a singer's career. On Ronan Keating's Destination, his collaborations with Gregg Alexander, totaling nine tracks, offer more upbeat, guitar-infused pop confections, with background vocals to spare, than any listener of Ronan's very mellow debut album could have expected. But these songs with hard rock potential, in the hands of the neighborhood charmer from Ireland, are kept well-mannered; if Meat Loaf had gotten his clutches on them, we'd be discussing a very different album, but Meat ...

Brett Ratner music CDs
$12.05 Raul Acosta, better known in the music industry as "El Presidente del Merengue," was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on September 8, 1971. Born into a musical family, at the age of seven, he and his older brothers Iván and Rafael, in addition to local neighborhood kids, started a pre-adolescent music group called "Los Sobrinos Del Rey". This was the Dominican version of the Jackson 5. With this early experience, Raul was able to develop his musical talent as well as his stage presence. The group went on to perform in two nationally televised shows on the government TV station, channel four, for a show called "Amarillis con los Niños.” At 9 years old, the family relocated to the United States like every other immigrant family, to work hard and prosper. With no English skills, Raul moved to Jersey City, New Jersey to start his new life. Years later, he moved to Union City where the Hispanic culture was growing stronger.Upon graduating from high school, Raúl began his studies in music and sound engineering by joining Kennedy's Music World, a local music school. There he worked retail and operated the music studio as well as helped students in their classes. In 1990, after graduating high school, he held different positions within the Hudson County government. Finally, in 1994, he formed New York's hottest and most established merengue band, Oro Sólido. That same year, he released his self-titled debut album, Oro Sólido. To his amazement, it was the beginning of a long and exciting career that has spanned over 12 years and worldwide recognition. The albums came almost every year after that. With hits like "Ta Cache," "La Tanguita Roja," "Maria se Fue," "El Baile del Beeper," "Una Nalgadita," "La Morena," and many more, Oro Sólido, positioned itself as one of the biggest Latin music groups in the world. They have surpassed various barriers when it comes to performing in the Anglo media and having their music played on English-speaking radio stations. Raul Acosta has been nominated for and won numerous awards throughout the years, including Premios Estrella, Premios ACE y Premio Lo Nuestro, just to name a few.The group has performed regularly on some of Hispanic TV’s most distinguished and popular TV shows. Oro Sólido was also the first merengue band to perform on Fox 5 News New York and ...
