| | Peter Gammons Never Slow Down, Never Grow Old CD Peter Gammons Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Primarily a novelty item for baseball fans--Red Sox fans especially--NEVER SLOW DOWN, NEVER GROW OLD finds lauded baseball scribe Peter Gammons running through a diverse set of mostly covers and a few originals with help from the likes of George Thorogood, Juliana Hatfield, and various musically inclined BoSoxes. Sure, it's fun to hear Gammons jam with Trot Nixon and Tim Wakefield, but the highlight is undoubtedly Gammon's remarkably spirited cover of the Clash classic "Death or Glory." While NEVER SLOW DOWN, NEVER GROW OLD isn't essential, it was done for a good cause (Sox GM Theo Epstein's A Foundation to Be Named Later), and Gammons's love for the music rings true.
Personnel: Peter Gammons (vocals, guitar); Tim Wakefield, Juliana Hatfield (vocals); George Thorogood, Paul Barrére (slide guitar); Jon Lupfer, Kay Hanley, Michael Eisenstein, Mike Gent, Pete Donnelly, Bill Janovitz, Matt Beaudoin, Chris Toppin, Russell Chudnofsky, Matt Tahaney, Bronson Arroyo, Ed Valauskas.

Never Slow Down, Never Grow Old album
$10.59 Recorded between 1964 & 1981. Includes liner notes by Brian Chin.
Though not as critically revered as label-mates Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder, the Supremes were the most popular Motown act of the 1960s. Not only did the group rack up a string of #1 singles, that, in terms of frequency and quality often rivaled that of the Beatles, they were one of the first black combos in America to truly achieve mainstream white acceptance.
In many ways, the Supremes' music represented the Motown sound distilled to its essence; Hitsville USA's throbbing bass, relentlessly danceable drum beats, and ingenious arrangements were never so purely and perfectly geared for maximum pop appeal as on early hits such ...

Never Slow Down, Never Grow Old album
$22.09 Godhead makes no secret of its influences, proudly sporting sonic touches reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. Like the work of those artists, Godhead's brand of industrial rock shifts back and forth between moody, murky electronics and driving, ear-piercing riffs and shrieks in the grand Ministry tradition.
On 2000 YEARS OF HUMAN ERROR the band seems to lean a bit more towards the carefully-produced, apocalyptic soundscapes ...

"... a joyous marriage of American folk, alt-country and indie-rock that reaches far beyond just the sense of hearing. This is music with tasteful arrangements, lyrics that touch both heart and mind and hauntingly beautiful songs scented with the essence of femininity" - ConcertLivewire.comWith a wellspring of captivating songs that dig deep into the soul of American roots music, while also interjecting a distinct modern rock flavor, Chicago singer/songwriter Martha Berner has successfully melded old and new into a timeless collection of indie folk-rock on her full-length debut album entitled ...this side of yesterday....this side of yesterday was recorded in Lexington, KY, as well as Lake Geneva and Madison, WI and co-produced by Duane Lundy, Todd Bowie and Grammy nominated Jake Johnson.
