$6.09 Ray Conniff was only a step or two above Lawrence Welk, where edginess is concerned, on the easy listening scale, and it is true that his albums could often have a sort of bland, soulless quality in their weakest moments. Nevertheless, there is something undeniably lovely about the orchestral ...

Let Me Be Strong CD music
$9.99 With this album, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass settle into their hitmaking groove, the once strikingly eclectic elements of Dixieland, pop, rock, and mariachi becoming more smoothly integrated within Alpert's infectious "Ameriachi" blend. They sound more like a band now; along with Alpert's now-indelibly stamped trumpet sound, we can recognize jazzman John Pisano's distinctive rhythm guitar, Lou Pagani's piano, the droll Bob Edmondson's dulcet trombone, etc. Pisano, who debuted as a composer on Going Places, comes up with a memorably whistleable song "So What's New," and the rest of Alpert's songwriting brigade (Ervan Coleman, Julius Wechter and Sol Lake) chime in with some lively, catchy tunes. There is also an assortment of pop, film, and Broadway standards of the day, all ...

Let Me Be Strong album
$16.45 Mythical: Once upon a time Dan was captured by mind-manipulating aliens that planted a small microchip into his brain that transfers and channels information through verse & audio. When this chip was activated from the distant planet that these aliens watch over Dan from he began acting strangely neurotic and wrote down alien transmissions in song form. He was then met by Nick Jenkins, a cyborg & freelance musician, and they began performing recording experiments. Shortly after their experimentations, they concocted a plan to take over the world, however, they needed a foil. Using a very disproportionately large tractor beam, they pulled in Ash Hopkins from 'Starzzhip Interrprizze' and passed off their plans for world domination in the form of an unsuspecting, small operations indie pop rock band. They called their superannihilation plan for all humanoids 'Run Dan Run'. They conducted hypnosis/mindthought planting experiments on the general masses at shows around their project base, Charleston, SC. They found a likely specimen for synthesizing hamsters with people in a young singer, Erin McKinley. They abducted her in a giant beam of light, gave her an aluminum foil helmet and made the first hamster-human ever recorded. They called their breakthrough discovery 'Basic Mechanics.' Now they're ready to infiltrate the homes of earthyouth in an honest-to-goodness jewel-cased CD package! muhahahahaha! Muhahahahaha!Historical: Dan started writing crappy, overly sentimental songs in middle ...
