Reflections album
$12.24 On This Is War, 30 Seconds to Mars shift their music with the shifting times, adopting a hybrid of the Killers' retro new wave and My Chemical Romance's gothic prog, winding up with a sound that suits their stance. Producers Steve Lillywhite and Flood, both veterans of U2, do give This Is War an appropriately epic scale, helping to bring into focus this mix of synth rock, metal, and prog flavors with Auto-Tuned vocals, gurgling synthesized loops, Kanye cameos, and a children's choir on almost every other song. This move toward goth-glam requires 30 Seconds to emphasize hooks and gives them aural variety, ...

| | Fatalprose CD (2005)
Reflections album
$12.69 On Saturday, February 16th 2002 Fatal Prose was conceived at the exact moment an engineering student died in an empty classroom . A theory became his eulogy. 'Words can alter the shape of now by changing the perception of the past, thus allowing us to transcend our fate , if one should exist, and create our own future.' For Prose, this meant a step backwards was just a step forward in a different direction. If this was true, his career as a poet began as a resident advisor at the University of Cincinnati. There he learned everything he needed to know regarding the power of words, building a just community, and counseling the human spirit. For three years, he organized the A.R.T. Show which brought the world of poetry slam and the planet of emcee battle to the barren moon of dormitory life and gave college students a positive alternative to vent their frustrations beyond the nights of drinking and smoking reefer. This was also a perfect time for him to develop his own hybrid of presentation, drawing from the influences of not only hip hop and spoken word, but traditional theater, gospel, jazz and rock and roll. Prose has been blessed to share the stage with many of his original influences: Jessica Care Moore, Ursula Rucker, Common Sense and Illogic being the most memorable. His eagerness to collaborate with other artists has driven his work and he can be heard on a growing collection of projects, most recently Is What's?! 'The Life We Chose' released nationally late summer 2006. Co-founder of Fatal-Lyfe publishing, Fatal Prose joins with Aphasia Lyfe to form a literary tag team dedicated to words and the people who read them. Their first work 'Spilled Ink' features Aphasia's poetry and Prose's illustrations, and wrestles with themes such as addiction, domestic violence, motherhood, self hate and real love. Prose can't draw to save his life, but feels like the Picasso of Photoshop after hours of making flyers trying to promote shows and events. He hosted weekly poetry readings at the Greenwich Tavern until returning to his home in Cleveland to help his family and finish his first album. His self titled debut can ...

| | Dave McBride Nail In The Head CD (2000)
Reflections music CDs
$8.55 Veteran Chicago newsman Dave McBride was often the padding for the introduction and conclusion to Steve Dahl's radio program. However, it was Dahl's obnoxiousness throughout the program that overshadowed the brilliance of his sidekick. On A Nail in the Head, McBride steps out on his own, delivering 32 of his most requested soliloquies to compact disc for the first time. Longtime loyal listeners will fondly recall these clips, while new listeners will be taken on a journey through witty puns, limericks, and an endless stream of factoids which will undoubtedly make you the most unpopular person at a party if you regurgitate one too many in a conversation. This album is absolutely essential to anyone who is a fan of the spoken-word format or amazingly refreshing and honest journalism. $10.25 THE ORIGIN OF SANTA'S CRACK AND THE AWARD WINNING DAMAGE CONTROL COMEDY CREWIn the tradition of The National Lampoon Radio Hour, Kids in the Hall and Saturday Night Live comes the Damage Control Comedy Crew.Growing up in the late 70's and early 80's me, my friends and perhaps most of my generation were highly influenced by the comedy style of Bill Murray, John Belushi, Chevy Chase and the rest of the cast of the early SNL. Before and during those years on television I would also hear comedy skits on the local radio station. These comedy sketches featured the likes of Christopher Guest, Richard Belzer, Paul Shaffer, Bryan Doyle Murray, and most of the early SNL cast. Somehow I managed to obtain these National Lampoon skits on LP and I listened to them over and over. Needless to say I enjoyed every minute of each record. I even ...
