It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. September 18, 1983 is a day that will go down in Kisstory. It was then that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and replacement members Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr took off their signature makeup and revealed themselves on MTV. LICK IT UP was released, and a new chapter unfolded.
Using the same production team as CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, Michael James Jackson, Simmons and Stanley came up with the same bone crunching sound as CREATURES, but with a slightly more polished feel. "Exciter" kicks off the album with a machine gun riff, which leads into Gene Simmons proclaiming he's "Not For The Innocent". The title track was a modest hit in the U.S., faired better in the U.K. and made for quite an entertaining video. "All Hell's Breakin' Loose" is a gritty streetwise track where Paul Stanley actually raps! "And On The 8th Day" is a powerful anthem that closes an exciting album.

For fans of "The Good The Bad and The Ugly, The Good Disc" (2003) This record fufills the premise of the ugly disc and for all intensive purposes is the Ugly Disc. Mad Man's "I'm Betta then You" (2005) Being the bad disc. We underwent some personnel changes this rip and were taking this record to say goodbye to some familiar full time voices such as mine and Killa Joe's and saying hello to new young voices Pacino,Ike Jenkins and Princess Jade. I don't know if Mad Man is hangin it up or not but I aint gonna push him. I think this may be it for him too cause he's doing more administrational work around here.
