Cactus Boogie Is back!
If anybody out there has been wondering,"Why is it that all the hard-rocking bands of today, seem to sound all alike"? Well have no fear because after about 30 yrs. the origional members of Cactus have reunited and put out a monster that sounds as if the band has progressed exactly were they left off, after the "Restrictions" album. Bogert, Appice, and McCarty have never rocked any harder and new singer, Jimmy Kunes, is as good a replacement for the dearly departed, Rusty Day, that you'll ever going to find. The 14 brand new tunes on this great album just flat out ROCK!!!!!

Cactusized!
Oh, the Cactus boys are back!!!
Okay, three of the four originals have gotten together again to bring back the thunderous sounds of 30 years gone by and what a return it is.
With Rusty Day watching over his former band mates (from a better place), Cactus has returned to what it does best - crunching, crashing, blues-rock, music that insures that you cannot sit down. Get on your feet!!!!
Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, Jim McCarty, and, new lead vocalist, Jimmy Kunes, are back and they ARE - CACTUS! (and, I'm sure that Rusty is booging along with them!)...
CACTUS V!!!!!!!!

Ultimate Blues Rock Boogie Again !!!!!
Cactus was an idea in the back of Carmine Appiece and Tim Bogart's minds many a year back. They bumped into Jim McCarty when they were in Vanilla Fudge and Jim was doing his stint with Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels,(Jenny Take A Ride,Little Latin Lupe Lu, and Good Golly Miss Molly, all excellent 60's covers from Little Richard's repretoire).
After Tim and Carmine's time with Jeff Beck, for which the Big 3 released one album, they finally got together with Mr. McCarty and the late, great Rusty Day(vocals and harp) from the Amboy Dukes(yes, with Ted Nugent)to form Cactus and proceeded to instill into the walls of heavy rock, their version of boogie rock.
I read once where someone termed Cactus the Led Zeppelin of America. Well if nothing else they did their own sound and did it with great forcefulness. Therefore Cactus' time and sound were really Carmine and Tim's baby from the git-go. So if you think the recording stems around the drums and bass, I'd say they have a slight right to do so. It's nothing(I'm sure) against Jim McCarty and Jimmy Kunes, the new vocalist and harmonica player, who is an unbelieveably, killer singer.
Hit it to your nearest cd store and get this great cd from 4 excellent musicians, who can still enjoy what they do with abandoned passion regardless of ages. Cactus, I say to you, "Let'er Rip, Tater Chip".

Very strong comeback!
I decided to listen to this album as if it was Cactus debut album, not comparing it to their earlier releases. I mean, its been like 30 years..
Im lovin this album! Its a very solid comeback from one of the most overlooked 70's rock bands. If youre a fan of 70's rock, be sure to pick this up!
