On 2006's TWO LIGHTS, his fourth studio album under the name Five for Fighting, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter John Ondrasik takes a few pages from the Marc Cohn/Bruce Hornsby book of introspective, piano-driven balladry, a style that suits his plaintive voice quite well. While the record's standout track is "The Riddle," a poignant tale of father-son bonding that touches on lite existential themes, Ondrasik also offers up other thoughtful tunes such as the string-laden wartime song "Freedom Never Cries." With its straightforward, highly accessible sound and heartfelt lyrics, TWO LIGHTS is sure to strike a chord with listeners looking for sensitive, radio-friendly soft rock.

Two Lights Music Review
Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Still Getitng it Right John from Five for Fighting is still getting it right on this record, he is a very talented songwriter and keeps delivering the goods!! Submitted by B-rad (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Wonderful melodies His gift for a memorable melody continues in this strong effort. "The Riddle", "World", "Two Lights", and the change-of-pace, goofy "65 Mustang" are the standouts. Fast becoming one of my favorite artists. Submitted by DTracy (Albany NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Johnny brought his guns. Once again, singer and songwriter John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting gets it right with his newest album "Two Lights." He truley is one of the great poets and storytellers of our time. This album is filled with hits and mellow moods from start to finish.
John really brought his big guns to the table to make, possibly, his best album to date. Whether deep or blunt, each song carries its own story that captures the listener and takes them along for the journey.
"Two Lights" is what music is all about. Submitted by BigJP721 (Berkley, MI, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
