5 stars a romantic treasure chest
Knowing only Les Preludes and a few other orchestral works by Liszt, I was surprised by how much I liked this 7-CD set. The Faust symphony, Dante symphony, Mazeppa, and Prometheus are among many favorites in this romantic treasure chest. Masur and the Leipzigers give suitably passionate performances of these always passionate works. Highly recommended.
