A Note from the Artist:This recording features several compositions that are personal favorites of mine. One is entitled "The Witness" and draws inspiration (like much of my music) from several different spiritual traditions. It touches upon themes from the Buddhist contemplative practices ("breathing in, breathing out, letting go as thoughts arise/no need to push away or hold/as the witness of the mind you are the soul") as well as the catholic mystic St. Francis's wonderful saying that "we are that which we are seeking." Another tune is titled "Believe in Love" and is an anthem of appreciation for the message of four of the greatest proponents of non-violence: Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Jesus, and Peace Pilgrim. The Music of John AstinJohn Astin's music takes me to a place where inspiration and creativity flow - to a place, in other words, that's divine.--Larry Dossey, MDJohn creates a musical vehicle of awesome beauty and pure spiritual intention that delivers the listener straight to the heart. He is a gift in the truest sense of the word- one of those rare souls with the ability toreconnect us to the Divine Source.-- Joan Borysenko, PhDJohn's evocative songs are like a beautiful garland of remembrance, a musical call to awaken to the Truth of who we are and express that Radiance in the world.--Ken WilberJohn Astin began his musical career at the age of seven. For the next 12 years, he studied classical guitar, a period highlighted by the five summers he attended the Aspen Music Festival. In Aspen, he was the youngest of the guitarists invited to perform in the master classes of the great Italian maestro Oscar Ghiglia (a protégé of Andres Segovia). At the age of nineteen, John began his work as a singer/songwriter, and in 1982 released his first of eight recordings of original spiritual and contemplative music. His signature song, "Love, Serve, and Remember," has been recorded by a number of artists and is used (along with much of his other music) in workshops, spiritual retreats, and healing seminars around the world. Along with his musical work, John holds a PhD in psychology. He is currently a research scientist at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco where he conducts cutting edge research in the field of mind-body medicine. Reflections
$6.79 All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
Canadian songstress Joni Mitchell never really considered herself a folkie. While adding jazz textures to her literate lyrics in the mid-'70s may have confused her fans and infuriated jazz purists, to her it was as natural as rain. On DON JUAN'S RECKLESS DAUGHTER, she collaborated with the cream of the '70s jazz crop including Wayne Shorter, Don Alias, Airto, Larry Carlton and a young bassist by the name of Jaco Pastorius.
The sound on DON JUAN is lean, with a stripped-down band largely relying on bass and percussion to back up Mitchell's voice and acoustic guitar. Pastorius in particular proves himself an able and sensitive accompanist, flexing ...

Reflections
$11.45 Hello, and welcome! Thanks for looking in."Talking To The Moon" is my first c.d., a mixture of my songs from the years leading up to 2006. That time saw many changes in my life, and this c.d. is a selection of songs written as a result of those experiences. They are not meant to be "pop" songs", more an attempt to paint some pictures, and communicate in some way, something of thoughts and dreams, and something of all those good and bad things that happen in life and love.I hope you might have a listen, and that a song or two might also talk to(and for) you."A Couple Of Thieves" is about the way life's pressures steal away our time; "Sunflowers" is for those far worse off than us,"Prisoner Of Concience" is from that dark place where we sometimes find ourselves, and by contrast there is also the celebration of rebirth in "Down By The River".I hope to be able to record some some of my many other songs soon, so any purchases will be greatly appreciated; it all goes back into music, making the world a better place.A ...

| | Sarkissian, Kevin & Clare Little Bit Sadder A Little Bit Wiser CD (2006)
Reflections
$6.39 The song on this CD I wrote about 26 years ago. It was very personal to me and I never thought about putting it on tape at that time. I wrote it probably a day or two after John Lennon was shot to death in December, 1980.At that time I was just thinking to myself: "What would you do if you knew that he won't make a sound anymore?" ...
