Mike Jackson, aka Oh No, is a member of the storied musical family that also includes 1970s soul star Otis Jackson, jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis, and Otis Jackson, Jr., the hip-hop artist Madlib. His second album is a collection of creatively manipulated samples and beats built around the jazz-funk work of the Canadian composer Galt MacDermot (who wrote the music for the iconic '60s musical HAIR), and featuring a series of smartly worded contributions from leading lights of hip-hop, like De La Soul's Posdnous and the Poor Righteous Teachers' Wise Intelligent. Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms
$6.79 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," ...

Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms
$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH WITHOUT ARMS, the band favors highly orchestrated parts, dense guitar riffs, and powerful drumming. Each song is based around memorable ...

Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms
$16.29 This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
Goldfinger is basically a ska-punk band, but it's not afraid to just be a punk band, either; in fact, it can sound disarmingly like both Husker Du (squalls of Bob Mould-ish feedback) and Green Day (engagingly melodic). It's not afraid of heavy metal either, as witness the ferocious riffing on "Bro," or lead singer/writer John Feldman's declaration in "The End of the Day" (a rant against an obnoxious speedfreak scenester) that "if I want to play metal that's all right with me."
Feldman's lyrical persona throughout the album is that of somebody continually ticked off by the people around him. Incidentally, that small sub-species of humanity who clamored for a revival ...
