Ali & Gipp are a rap duo which consists of Ali (born Ali Vaskabi-Waski-Jones in St. Louis, Missouri) of the St. Lunatics, and Gipp (born Cameron Gipp in Atlanta, Georgia) of Goodie Mob. They first appeared together on the single Grillz, by Nelly and Paul Wall. The fusing of their very different and distinctive way of dressing and rapping make this group a stand out. The Group is signed to 3 time Grammy winning, Multi-Platinum recording artist Nelly's new label Derrty Ent.
On their first full-length collaboration, 2006's KINFOLK, midwestern rapper Ali (St. Lunatics) teams up with Dirty South native Gipp (aka Big Gipp of Goodie Mob) for a fierce set of anthemic hip-hop. Delivering on the promise of their initial pairing (Nelly's "Grillz," featuring Paul Wall), Ali & Gipp offer up a thumping, diverse set of tunes like the frenetic "Hard in Da Paint" (with Nelly) and the woozy skull-rattler "Go Head" (with Chocolate Tai). Issued on Nelly's Derrty Ent. imprint, the album also includes guest shots by David Banner, Cee-Lo, Three 6 Mafia, and others, ensuring its status as one of more high-profile rap releases of late '06.
Additional personnel: Pi Productions, Sham, Zo (various instruments); Marvin Darkman, DJ Speedy, Jasper Cameron (keyboards); Tony Reyes (bass guitar); Rick Shepperd (programming); Chocolate Tai, Tamala Jones, Kijuan, David Banner, Jasper, Juvenile, Murphy Lee, Nelly, Pimp C, Avery Storm, Three 6 Mafia, Big Rube, Lloyd, LeToya, Bun B, Cee Lo.
Ali & Gipp are sick alone bot 2gether This album was to say the least a surprise to me I say it at a local store and figured at least I would get an album with a couple of bass heavy party songs but little did I know that everyone on this album was bringing thier A game in flow and beats. The bass on this cd is so hard from the start to the end noithing but str8 trunk rattlers the only miss is the song I was gonna make you the R&B flavor just didnt fit with the rest of the cd. Ali is the best rapper out of Nellys camp and Gipp has always had standout vocals and an ear for beats. Get this album it show cases Nelly I didnt know that this guy could really rap but the 3 songs he is on are really amazing he really can rap. In my opinion THE BEST 2 SONGS ARE "leann" with Murphy Lee and the song with Three Six Mafia Submitted by Travis Baldwin (merlin,OREGON,USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
