Purchase Drive CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Michael Jackson Thriller CD (1982) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Special Edition
Drive album
$3.99 The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether ...
| | Judas Priest Hell Bent For Leather CD (1979) Gold
Drive CD music
$19.35 The British version of this release is titled KILLING MACHINE.
Principally recorded at Utopia, Basing Street and CBS Studios, London, England in 1978. Includes liner notes by Judas Priest.
Judas Priest's 1979 release, HELL BENT FOR LEATHER (titled KILLING MACHINE in Europe), continued the band's late '70s winning streak, which included such metal classics as SAD WINGS OF DESTINY, SIN AFTER SIN, and STAINED CLASS. Such deliciously heavy tracks as "Delivering the Goods," the title track, the U.K. hit single "Take On the World," and a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)," showed that nobody could touch singer Rob Halford and company ...

| | Black Sabbath Paranoid CD (1971)
Drive album
$8.55 PARANOID proved to be Black Sabbath's most focused, consistent, and successful record. Leaving behind the amorphous, extended jams of their debut for focused songs and a more structured sound, Black Sabbath virtually wrote the book on heavy metal with the ominous, unforgettable riffs, thunderous rhythms, and dark themes on this release. There are some up-tempo rockers, the famous title track for one, but for the most part PARANOID oozes along like a bad dream, as on the slinky, creepy opener, "War Pigs," or the lumbering thud of "Iron Man" ...
| | Fleetwood Mac Then Play On CD (1969)
Drive CD music
$10.15 There were 2 different versions of this LP, each with slightly different tracks. The CD contains all tracks from both versions.
Led by singer-guitarist Peter Green, the first version of Fleetwood Mac was one of England's premier bands and possibly the greatest white blues band ever to emerge from the '60s blues revival. ...
| | Syd Barrett Barrett CD (1970)
Drive music CDs
$7.95 Wright and Gilmour also accompany Barrett on much of the material. Their tasteful blend of murmured bass, harmonium, and piano nicely complements Barrett's acoustic strumming and the album's slower pace and slightly darker mood, providing a counterpoint to Barrett's dislike of conventional song structure. From the seemingly paranoid free-association of "Rats" to the dirge "Maisie," Barrett seems to be channeling his wounded psyche directly to ...
| | Dar Williams Green World CD (2000)
Drive songs
$15.75 It ain't easy being queen. In the late 1990s, Dar Williams emerged as the unchallenged ruler of the folk singer-songwriter roost, and her Cry, Cry, Cry side-project with Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky heightened her profile even further. This all added up to a great deal of expectation surrounding THE GREEN WORLD.
Williams did not shrink from the challenge. For one thing, THE GREEN WORLD is the least "folk"-sounding of all her recordings. ...

| | Paul Oakenfold Bunkka CD (2002) Enhanced CD
Drive CD music
$14.65 The wide-ranging, freewheeling modes of BUNKKA (the name comes from Peter Gabriel's studio in the UK, where the album was recorded) are comparable with the catchall stylings of Paul Oakenfold's fellow dance enthusiast, Moby. So it should come as little surprise to anyone who followed Oakenfold's career over the pervious decade that he's come up with an album that's at least as eclectic as anything the aforementioned techno elf had produced lately.
Oakenfold is best known as a dance remix artist, whose credits also include producing Happy Mondays' best-selling PILLS 'N' THRILLS & BELLYACHES and remixing tracks for U2. So the inclusion of several guitar-heavy tracks, plus a guest appearance from Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell, should raise few eyebrows, but it's with dance-flavored cuts such as "Southern Sun" and "Ready Steady Go" that he appears most at home. While his inspiration obviously comes from reworking other artists' tracks, he takes a good stab at constructing (and deconstructing) his own efforts, aided by guest appearances from Tricky, Nelly Furtado, ...
