(2 Customer Reviews)
After flirting with the pop mainstream with hit singles like "I Hope You Dance," Lee Ann Womack came decidedly back to country with 2005's THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM, an unapologetic stylistic throwback to the days when Patsy Cline and ... Full DescriptionKitty Wells ruled the country charts. While CALL ME CRAZY is nearly as traditionalist in its sound, and every bit as strong as a set of songs, it sounds perhaps a little more contemporary--more Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton than Patsy and Kitty--and includes highlights like first single "Last Call" and a pair of duets with Keith Urban and George Strait. CALL ME CRAZY was released as a vinyl LP as well as a digital download and a standard CD: the once retro but now once again hot format is a perfect fit for the album's back-to-basics charms.

Rolling Stone (p.94) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[P]roducer Tony Brown adds some soul to the hard-drinking ballad 'Solitary Thinkin" and builds an ambient groove for 'The Bees,' one of Womack's catchiest tunes ever." Entertainment Weekly (p.70) - "[The album] has Womack in much the same traditionalist mode, sounding like a distaff version of George Jones at his finest." -- Grade: A- Hide Description Call Me Crazy Music | List Price | $13.95 (You save $1.86) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Country CDs, Contemporary Country | | Label | MCA Nashville | | Orig Year | 2008 | | All Time Sales Rank | 24047 | | CD Universe Part number | 7264042 | | Catalog number | 000602502 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Oct 21, 2008 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Producer | Tony Brown | | Personnel | Paul Franklin - steel guitar Eric Darken - percussion Eric Darken - percussion Brent Mason - electric guitar, gut-string guitar Bryan Sutton - acoustic guitar Michael Rhodes - bass instrument, upright bass Steve Nathan - accordion, Fender Rhodes piano, Hammond b-3 organ, Wurlitzer organ, keyboards, synthesizer Greg Morrow - drums, bongos Wes Hightower Aubrey Haynie - mandolin, fiddle

Call Me Crazy music CDs
$12.65 Though Lee Ann Womack's voice has always betrayed the influence of 1960s and '70s country music, prior to THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM, her albums often concentrated on sophisticated Nashville pop-country. The vintage-style soft-focus cover photo and faux record dust jacket here, however, immediately signal a change of direction.
From the opening honky-tonk fiddle notes of the title track, it's clear that this disc is a conscious nod to the spirit of classics by Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lynn. Throughout the album, Womack's expressive vocals are backed by careening steel guitars and sweet piano licks, which seem to flow straight from the spirit ...

A four-disc box set of all new material, nearly all of it Gill originals, THESE DAYS is possibly the widest-ranging country album of the modern era. The four discs are thematically and stylistically arranged. Disc one, WORKIN' ON A BIG CHILL, is a 1960s-flavored rock-and-roll album that recalls Bob Dylan's ...

| | Andy Budd Saints & Scoundrels CD (2007)
Call Me Crazy songs
$12.65 Son of a U. S. Marine and the youngest of five kids, Andy has lived and traveled all over the US. As someone who has lived or been in all fifty states he has a unique perspective on life. His experiences growing up in Southern California, Kansas, Hawaii, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia give him an interesting view of the world that is reflected in his songwriting. Read What Others Have To Say:“Andy Budd, singer, songwriter extraordinaire. Thirteen original, real good, feel good songs that soothe the soul and puts a smile on my face.” - Lyle Thompson, Austin, TXAndy, I am so impressed with your "Saints & Scoundrels" CD! I can't stop playing it! 13 songs that touch every human emotion. More please! Allan Stukel, Fairfax, VA“Andy Budd's musical style is distinctive yet familiar--perhaps because it is intensely personal while reflecting experiences shared in common with his listeners. The myriad of adventures Andy has had and continues to live have brought meaning and a depth of understanding to life that comes through clearly in his lyrics. The strong influence of family and friends, the value of commitment to God and country, the obligation to share one's gifts and the importance of living life to the full are unmistakable. "Saints and Scoundrels" is an impressive debut with all the heart and soul of country music. Every song on the CD stays with you long after the final track is played.” Melissa Bosso, Springfield, MO“…a very refreshing album. It's obviously comes from the heart and many personal experiences. What makes it unique, I think everyone can recall similar times in their lives when they knew their lives were changing courses, losing loved ones, and feeling high as the result of hard work and accomplishment. I still especially like the Cold November Morning song. I've listened to the CD many, many times and every time I hear (or think of) something I missed before. Great music and lyrics.” Bill Long, Woodbridge, VA“WOW! I love this CD. Hearing bits and pieces of some of the songs over the last year or two whet my appetite for more. “Saints & Scoundrels” definitely delivers the full course! Your life is in your songs and your songs are full of life. Amazing! I am in awe of your latest accomplishment. Not only do your songs cause me to reflect on my ...
