(5 Customer Reviews)
Following Everclear's 2004 split with Capitol Records, singer/guitarist Art Alexakis became the sole remaining member of the Portland, Oregon-based post-grunge act. However, rather than giving up the Everclear name, Alexakis assembled a new band, and soldiered on with '06's WELCOME TO THE DRAMA CLUB. Boasting a notably fuller sound, the expanded quintet offers up a lively set of pop-savvy rock, as best exemplified by the keyboard-heavy "Hater" and the melancholy, mid-tempo "Drama King," a pair of catchy tunes that position Alexakis as a legitimate rock-&-roll survivor.

Welcome To The Drama Club Music Everclear Welcome To The Drama Club Songs Welcome To The Drama Club Music Welcome To The Drama Club Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) For all the Everclear fans... Art has grown up and become one of the "old rockers". In this case he does it with grace-unlike Eddie Vedder and such. Get the albumn listen to it a few times and love it. Cant go wrong! I haven't even heard it yet. But I know it has to be good. I've never heard an Everclear song that was bad. Submitted by no (Wisconsin, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Good stuff! It's nice to see Everclear back again. I was almost certain that Art had totally disbanded Everclear a few years ago after Slow Motion Daydream, but I was wrong...he's got a new lineup now. The nice thing is that new members have taken Everclear's sound a step further with this album, using keyboard and other added elements to the mix. To be quite honest, I miss original members Craig and Greg, but Slow Motion Daydream was kinda drab compared to this; some parts of the album remind me of So Much for the Afterglow, which is my favorite. "Hater" is the best on here, and is actually worth buying this album just for that song alone, but there are other catchy highlights, like "Under the Western Stars" and the groovy "Taste of Hell". A word of advice...do NOT buy the edited version! This is definitely a must-have for fans of good music. Submitted by megadeth1981 (Lakeland, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
art keeps on rockin as a huge everclear fan, i wasn't totally sure what to make of this albulm at first because what i really really love is the older stuff, like sparkle and fade and so much for the afterglow. but after listening to it a few times, it grew on me a lot. art's lyrics are intense, honest, and perfect for the average person to relate to on so many levels. cant go wrong with everclear first of all, it seems half the people hearing this album are saying they miss the old everclear. true, i do prefer their older stuff, their new stuff is excellent as well. in my opinion every everclear album has its high points. if you are new to everclear definitely start with: So Much for the Afterglow and then Sparkle and Fade. | | Barry Goldberg Stoned Again CD (2002)
Welcome To The Drama Club songs
$12.39 A truly brilliant and original concept for a tribute album, Stoned Again can be classified as many things: a Barry Goldberg solo record (his first in 20 years), a Rolling Stones tribute, as well as a sort of modern-day Super Session album. Goldberg, a veteran keyboardist and songwriter who was one of the founding members of the Electric Flag, has also played on hundreds of sessions for artists ranging from Bob Dylan to the Flying Burrito Brothers. Aside from showing off his imposing keyboard skills, Stoned Again is a vital example of his ability as a tasteful and inventive arranger. A good illustration of this is the smoky barroom funk of "Jumpin' Jack Flash," which renders the actual tune almost unrecognizable, but nevertheless completely enthralling. Ditto for "Heart of Stone," which receives an extraordinarily jazzy, Booker T. & the MG's-soaked overhaul. Aside from Goldberg and his superb band -- which includes veterans Greg Sutton, Don Heffington, and Denny Freeman -- there are several astounding guest performances. ...
