After a three-year layoff, Journey returned with 1986's RAISED ON RADIO. Longtime drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory had left the band prior to the album's recording, leaving singer Steve Perry, guitarist Neal Schon, and keyboardist Jonathan Cain to fend for themselves.

While the album wasn't as big a blockbuster as the band's previous few releases (ESCAPE, FRONTIERS, etc.), it did spawn such hit singles as "Girl Can't Help It" and "Be Good to Yourself." After a successful supporting tour wrapped up later in the year, Journey would go on hiatus for 10 years, until 1996's TRIAL BY FIRE.

5 stars Journey and Steve Perry Break Up
Steve Perry and Journey Were at the top of the Game In 1980's. Steve Perry Got rid Of longtime bassit Ross Valory and drummer Steve Smith For Randy Jackson of american Idol Bass Gutar and Larrie London on Drums. The result is a different Journey. AS tensions Reached their Boiling Point Neal Schon and steve fighting for control. Steve 's mom dying and Sherry Swafford "s Break up with him Pushed him To Take more control of the Group and hits Were working Like Clockwork But Steve Had trouble Coping with fame and The rewads and terrible price of Going to the edge and Hating everyone to love himself so in the end Journey spilt until 1987 at the Bammy Awards or the music awards as Steve Was Named Best Vocalist and Fought back tears and Journey was Named Best Group and Best Guitarist and Best Keyboardist Journey Left Unil 1996 Reformed by Perry For Trial By fire.

1 star Journey Away
Journey for me is one of the top rock/aor bands of all time - except for Raised On Radio. It is wimpy crap. Where is Neil Schon on this record?? Thank goodness Steve Perry went and Arniel Pineda is now the vocalist.
