Trial By Fire album
$7.59 Widely considered to be Journey's finest moment, 1981's ESCAPE virtually defined "arena rock," and became so popular that it even spawned its own Atari video game. Featuring the urgent anthem "Don't Stop Believin'" and the soaring ballad "Open Arms," the album showcases Neal Schon's dynamic guitar riffs, Jonathan Cain's bold keyboard lines, and, most importantly, singer Steve Perry's powerhouse vocals. Although the San Francisco-based band achieved success both before and after ESCAPE, which also includes the plaintive "Who's Crying ...

Trial By Fire songs
$7.59 Released in early 1981, just before the band became power ballad kings, Journey's CAPTURED is a live double album/single CD. Although it would reach even greater heights of popularity starting with its next studio release, ESCAPE, Journey was already one of the top names in stateside rock. All of its hits and fan favorites up to this point are featured, notably "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'," "Wheel in the Sky," and "Any Way You Want It."

| | Journey Raised On Radio CD (1986) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Digipak
Trial By Fire album
$8.29 After a three-year layoff, Journey returned with 1986's RAISED ON RADIO. Longtime drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory had left the band prior to the album's recording, leaving singer Steve Perry, guitarist Neal Schon, and keyboardist Jonathan Cain to fend for themselves.
While the album wasn't as big a blockbuster as the band's previous few releases (ESCAPE, FRONTIERS, etc.), it did spawn such hit singles as "Girl Can't Help It" and "Be Good to Yourself." After a successful supporting tour wrapped up later in the year, Journey would go on hiatus for 10 years, until 1996's TRIAL BY FIRE.

| | Journey Frontiers CD (1983) Bonus Tracks; Remastered; Digipak
Trial By Fire CD music
$7.59 It seemed like nothing could stop Journey when it kept its string of multi-million selling blockbuster albums intact with the release of 1983's FRONTIERS. The band also successfully made the transition to the MTV era with this release, benefiting from the new station's constant airing of its (inadvertently) hilarious video for "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)."
Also included here are two more hit ballads that showcase vocalist Steve Perry's immense talents: "Faithfully" and "Send Her My Love," as well as the often-overlooked rockers "Chain Reaction" and "Rubicon." This would prove to be the last Journey release with its classic Perry-Schon-Cain-Smith-Valory line-up for 13 years.
Also available in a 3-pack with ESCAPE and INFINITY.

| | Pacific Gas & Electric Are You Ready/Pacific Gas & Electric CD (1969)
Trial By Fire music CDs
$11.59 This double-disc set brings together the first two albums by California blues-rock outfit Pacific Gas & Electric. Led by soul belter Charlie Allen and former James Gang guitar wizard Glenn Beck, the band played a mix of R&B covers and originals, heavy on showmanship and west coast groove. Though PC&G 's music might not have been quite as interesting as the drama that surrounded them (which included born-again proselytizing and cult deprogramming), they were a solid unit capable of turning out heavy ...

Trial By Fire CD music
$12.49 On their full-length debut, New York's Parts & Labor trade in a combination of emo, punk, and controlled squalling guitar noise that at times recalls the intensity of the Velvet Underground. The band's frenzied sonic assault on songs like "Timeline" and "A Pleasant Day" frames impassioned vocals, while furious, careening percussion drives the ...
