A solid 23-track overview of Elvis's secular Christmas songs and a healthy sprinkling of his beloved gospel tunes, ELVIS CHRISTMAS is the only Elvis holiday record one will ever need. Kicking off with his legendary reading of Leiber and Stoller's sassy "Santa Claus Is Back In Town," ELVIS CHRISTMAS has the devotional ("Take My Hand, Precious Lord"), the more earthly kind of devotional (a sexy, bluesy "Merry Christmas Baby"), and, as one must with Elvis, the cheesy ("Here Comes Santa Claus"). The remastered sound here is superb.
RCA/Sony BMG's Elvis Christmas collection features all of the tracks from the King's 1957 Christmas Album and 1971's Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas.
