Tribaljazz songs
$130.09 Released during late 2006 in honor of the Doors' 40th anniversary, PERCEPTION is a six-CD/six-DVD box set that not only features all of the legendary Los Angeles rock band's classic albums, but includes rare recordings and video footage on companion bonus discs. Boasting newly remastered sound, the compilation traces the arc of the group's years fronted by the brooding, mercurial Jim Morrison, an undeniably charismatic and compelling performer who boldly announced the arrival of the band on its thrilling first single "Break On Through (To The Other Side)," and later heralded the act's demise on the haunting "Riders on the Storm." In between, the set features other outstanding Doors tracks such as the macabre "People Are Strange," the trippy "Hello, I Love You," the glitter-and-velvet pop tune "Touch Me," and the raucous "Roadhouse Blues," which all showcase Morrison's deep, resonant voice and the rest of the ensemble's tight playing and moody, inventive arrangements. Although many of the rarities will mainly be of interest to Doors diehards (see the unformed "Push Push"), PERCEPTION is an impressively thorough anthology with appeal for anyone intrigued ...

Tribaljazz album
$6.59 All the flux Hagar's endured since leaving Van Halen results in a record full of introspection that finds the singer engaging in a Heart-flavored power ballad about his new wife and infant daughter ("Kama") and indulging in the metaphysical ("The Yogi's So High (I'm Stoned)"). Hagar's unlikely list of hand-picked contributors also includes Bay Area neighbor Mickey Hart, who adds his percussive talents and even co-produces the catchy title track with Guns 'N' Roses' knob-twirler Mike Clink.
Sammy Hagar's first post-Van Halen album finds the Red Rocker getting over a messy musical break-up by collaborating with an unlikely array of guest artists. Cameos include Huey Lewis and Roy Rogers, who add bluesy nuances to the crunch of "Little White Lie," and Bootsy Collins, whose bass enlivens the faux funk of "Would You Do It For Free?". Hagar's old group Montrose even reforms for "Leaving The Warmth Of The Womb."
Personnel: Sammy Hagar (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, bass); Slash, Mike Landau (guitar); Ronnie Montrose (acoustic & electric guitars); Damon Johnson (acoustic & slide guitars); Roy Rogers (slide ...

Tribaljazz music CDs
$14.05 Naturally, there is a healthy dose of old school jazz and swing here, with treatments of "Hello Dolly" and "Won't You Come Home, Bill Bailey?" that do their best to conjure the ghost of Louis Armstrong strolling down Decatur. Connick does spry, spirited versions of the Allen Toussaint classics "Working in a Coal Mine" and "Yes We Can," keeping the feel brash and funky, while his originals (which are explicitly about New Orleans) blend surprisingly well with these gems. It's Connick's way of adding his name to the legacy, a gesture that gives the set a personal, poignant touch.
Along with the Marsalis brothers, Harry Connick Jr. is one of the best known late-20th-century musicians associated with New Orleans. OH, MY NOLA is Connick's letter of love and hope to the city post-Katrina, and he spins through the Big Easy's songs and styles with a spirit that is equal parts nostalgia, heartbreak, and celebration.

Tribaljazz Music Review Average Rating: (2.5 out of 5 stars) Densmore Jazz At Last John Densmore entered The Doors all those years ago, stating that he was essentially a jazz player.Whilst this thoroughly enhanced Doors music, John never showed himself in a jazz album, till now.
Tribal Jazz is a fine album, easy on the ear, not too challenging for us who are not exactly afficionados.
There are a couple of stand out tracks, The First Time (I Heard Coltrane) being one, and Riders On The Storm, which allows John a little indulgence , being another.
This is comfortable music, not comfortably numb, and I hope to hear more tracks laid down in the not too distant future. Submitted by billdavidson2 (Cork, Ireland) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
