How the mighty have fallen...
I used to think COF were immortal. Well, not literally, but they had a way with compsition that never failed, not even once. From Principle of Evil Made Flesh to Midian they were Vampyric metal gods. Then they began to stutter a little bit with the offering of Bitter Suites to Succubi, and kind of fell a little with Damnation and a Day, but hit what I thought was nearly rock bottom with Nymphetamine. Well, I was wrong about that one. Thornography naturally hit even more of a rock bottom than Nymphetamine did. From 1996-2004 COF were my absolute favourite band, and I had complete faith in them and everything they did. Back then, Dani's word saying it was going to be good actually meant something, because they had delivered consistently so many times in the past when he said that. Now, the dark energy that animated the old releases is gone, and not even a trace of it remains. The graven and dramatic atmosphere I felt listening to The Principle of Evil Made Flesh is non-existant. The dark mysticism that I felt listening to V Empire or Dusk and Her Embrace has vanished. The gothic romanticism and vampyrism of Cruelty and the Beast no longer has the integrity and passion put behind it here. Dani's lyrics have gone from telling dark romantic stories in a masterful and poetic way to talking about porn and candy stores. The music does not reach down into my soul and invoke all that is darkness within it anymore. It is sad to me to see the former masters falter in such a horrible way, to where I went from wishing they'd never stop putting out music to wishing they'd just stop tarnishing their formerly illustrious career and call it a day.

Best or Bestest You Decide.
This cd like many others have come before us from Cradle Of Filth.
The newest, which being Thornography, brings us hard, straight up metal in your ass. but it also has a twist of one or two covers, especially in Temptation. This Album, is to tell all of you, that Cradle Of Filth, is not going anywhere and they are on tour as we speak. so prepare for ultimate brutal metal when they hit your local town.

Thornocrappy.
This CD is awful and doesn't fit Filth at all. When the best track on the CD is the second one (Dirge Inferno), it's official that you need to step your game up. Thank the powers that be that the two CD's that came after this one were amazing otherwise, I would have quit on Filth after Nymphetamine and I'm a rabid metal fan and have been one of Filth's fans since the late 1990's. Case in point. Get any other CD besides this one or Nymphetamine, period, point blank.

Mixed feelings
I know alot of Cradle fans were thrown of by this one, but I kind of enjoy, even though old COF was better this has some pretty good qualitys that still keep in in the game. Like the great female vocals on the song Temptation. Check this out you might like it, you might not.
