With THORNOGRAPHY, Cradle Of Filth conjures up enough stylistic curveballs to keep devotees of the provocative black metal outfit guessing. Producer Rob Caggiano deepens his relationship with the Filth, after skillfully helming 2004's NYMPHETAMINE. ... Full DescriptionDani Filth and company notch back the orchestral touches prevalent on CoF's recent works opting for a less sonically dense but no less heavy album. Amidst the requisite thrashy brutality, HIM vocalist Ville Valo and newcomer chanteuse Harry guest-spot, creating some of the most interesting and melodic moments.
Cradle Of Filth: Dani Filth (vocals); Charles Hedger, Paul Allender (guitar); Dave Pybus (bass instrument); Adrian Erlandsson (drums).
Additional personnel: Dirty Harry, Sarah Jezabel Deva, Ville Vanni (vocals); Doug Bradley (spoken vocals); Mark Robson (keyboards).
Entertainment Weekly (p.81) - "[The album] ends with an unlikely but excellent cover of 'Temptation,' by New Romantic soulsters Heaven 17." -- Grade: B- Kerrang (Magazine) (p.46) - "Their music has always had an air of the surreal to it, filled with blackened over-the-top pomp that makes their take on black metal truly fantastic..." Hide Description Cradle Of Filth Thornography Songs Thornography Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews How the mighty have fallen... I used to think COF were immortal. Well, not literally, but they had a way with compsition that never failed, not even once. From Principle of Evil Made Flesh to Midian they were Vampyric metal gods. Then they began to stutter a little bit with the offering of Bitter Suites to Succubi, and kind of fell a little with Damnation and a Day, but hit what I thought was nearly rock bottom with Nymphetamine. Well, I was wrong about that one. Thornography naturally hit even more of a rock bottom than Nymphetamine did. From 1996-2004 COF were my absolute favourite band, and I had complete faith in them and everything they did. Back then, Dani's word saying it was going to be good actually meant something, because they had delivered consistently so many times in the past when he said that. Now, the dark energy that animated the old releases is gone, and not even a trace of it remains. The graven and dramatic atmosphere I felt listening to The Principle of Evil Made Flesh is non-existant. The dark mysticism that I felt listening to V Empire or Dusk and Her Embrace has vanished. The gothic romanticism and vampyrism of Cruelty and the Beast no longer has the integrity and passion put behind it here. Dani's lyrics have gone from telling dark romantic stories in a masterful and poetic way to talking about porn and candy stores. The music does not reach down into my soul and invoke all that is darkness within it anymore. It is sad to me to see the former masters falter in such a horrible way, to where I went from wishing they'd never stop putting out music to wishing they'd just stop tarnishing their formerly illustrious career and call it a day. Best or Bestest You Decide. This cd like many others have come before us from Cradle Of Filth.
The newest, which being Thornography, brings us hard, straight up metal in your ass. but it also has a twist of one or two covers, especially in Temptation. This Album, is to tell all of you, that Cradle Of Filth, is not going anywhere and they are on tour as we speak. so prepare for ultimate brutal metal when they hit your local town. Mixed feelings I know alot of Cradle fans were thrown of by this one, but I kind of enjoy, even though old COF was better this has some pretty good qualitys that still keep in in the game. Like the great female vocals on the song Temptation. Check this out you might like it, you might not. Submitted by srbrucker (kcmo) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$12.59 Representing a classic case of delayed fame, Italian goth-metal act Lacuna Coil broke into the American music consciousness via a much talked-about showing on the Ozzfest 2004 second stage, nearly two years after the release of their third album, COMALIES. Similar to its American counterparts Evanescence, this European sextet features the dual vocals of Cristina Scabbia and her male counterpart, Andrea Ferro. Despite the liberal amounts of keyboards added to the mix, guitarists Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi more than hold their own, pumping choppy riffs into the 1980s-sounding "Self Deception" and the simmering opener "Swamped." What makes Lacuna Coil so unique in an often musically conservative genre is the band's ability to dabble ...

$11.09 In the beginning there was metal and it was heavy. In the mid-'80s an underground sub-genre made a name for itself based as much on satanic imagery as on extreme music, with bands like Bathory and Mayhem. Enter England's Cradle of Filth, who took black metal to new heights in the '90s. DAMNATION AND A DAY finds the band at the artistic pinnacle of its controversial career, with the unprecedented-for-the-genre support of Sony firmly behind them.

| | Candygram For Mongo Red Pill CD (2006)
Thornography music CDs
$9.35 Candygram For Mongo began in late 2005 when Tony Shea, vocals, and Gary Sharp, drums, started ripping through tunes out in the back shack of G’s house in North Hollywood. With fun, anthemic, and original Power-pop tracks that had a sense of romance, humor, and guts, Gary and Tony brought on two more outstanding musicians — Johnny D, guitar, and Dan Cohen, bass - to round out the group and begin production on their debut album, “The Red Pill.”Candygram For Mongo are now taking their show on the road, first hitting Los Angeles by storm with regular appearances at world famous venues like The Viper Room, The Cat Club, and The House of Blues. The response has been phenomenal! Skratch Magazine writes, “Hooks for days, sugary yet shouted choruses and a versatile knowledge of the rock ‘n roll playbook...set Candygram For Mongo way ahead of the rest of the whiners, poseurs and talentless but popular acts on the scene.” Candygram For Mongo’s song, INTERMISSION, was featured on the hit cable show, “Battlestar Galactica.” They have won the award for “Male Singer/Songwriter of the Year” at the 16th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards. Their track, HAPPY, has been accepted into the Clear Channel Discover New Music Program and is featured on hundreds of Clear Channel Radio Station Websites, and Black Angel Promotions writes, “the music is absolutely brilliant.”Although Candygram For Mongo has only been together for a relatively short time, each member is an experienced musician. TONY SHEA, grew up on a steady diet of punk music and prep school mind control. Tony’s first band, Columbian Necktie, was part of the Washington DC club scene for years, and particularly renown for their outlandish live shows. Tony’s misadventures have resulted in numerous broken bones, multiple concussions, and literally hundreds of stitches. He moved to Los Angles in 1999 to find a nice quiet place to settle down. JOHNNY D graduated Harvard (Illinois) Music Academy with a minor in Lead Glockenspiel. He quickly became bored with hippy chicks that are attracted to Glockenspiel players, and picked up the guitar. After 6-years on the road, Johnny moved to Nashville, TN and ...
