Swedish electronica duo Koop create layered, dreamy, beat-driven tracks that are often graced with jazzy instrumental loops and graceful female vocals. KOOP ISLANDS continues the group's pioneering fusion, mixing trip-hop, acid jazz, and more progressive electronica tendencies. Guest singers Ane Brun, Yukimi Nagano, Earl Zinger, and others lend their pipes to Koop's trancey, floating grooves, creating a cool, ethereal, noir-ish soundtrack that plays like a hotel sign blinking off and on through a dusky, rain-swept night.

2006 release, the follow-up to their 2002 breakthrough album Waltz For Koop. Koop is Swedish Electronica/Jazz duo Magnus Zingmark and Oscar Simonsson who have been compared to Jazzanova and Kruder & Dorfmeister. The duo create modern Electronic sounds laced with Jazz influences with Hip Hop and Dance added into the mix. Koop Islands features the talents of two talented female vocalists: Cecilia Stalin and Yukimi Nagano. Features the single 'Koop Island Blues'. K7.

This is one of the best CD's I've owned in a long time and purchasing through CD Universe was a breeze. If you are a fan of cocktail Jazz, Swing, Pop, Standards, Jazz Fusion etc... you must add this to your collection. I highly recommend it.

5 stars Fantastic songs....
When I heard this CD for the first time, I was enchanted. The first song, Koop Island Blues, really sucked me in...it really made me think of lost love. The gal on Whenever There Is You has an amazing voice and Lets Elope The Moonbounce, what an awesome song!!! I intially wanted this one, but received this and Koop Waltz, I'm hungry for more!
