In 2006, British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's outrageous Borat character from DA ALI G SHOW became the star of his own film. The accompanying soundtrack, subtitled "Stereophonic Musical Listenings That Have Been Origin in Moving Film," presents the seemingly clueless Kazakh reporter at his wackiest in dialogue snippets from the movie and on the irreverent folk tune "In My Country There Is Problem (Throw the Jew Down the Well)." The album also includes tracks written and performed by Cohen's brother, Erran Baron Cohen, a member of the world-music ensemble Zohar. Sometimes funny, rubbish for the most part. Some of the songs are amazing! Such a waste!

 Amazing!
I see that people are complaining about the music and its originality. It is widely known that the soundtrack was complied by Goran Bregovic. And, yes, the music was used in numerous Balkan productions. Just because it says that Cohen is the writer, does not mean it takes away from the beauty of the music. I love the soundtrack! I was raised on this music, particularly ESMA REDZEPOVA and Goran Bregovic. And my parents finally feel like they have benefited from a "Hollywood" production.

some of the music is from the movie "American Dreamers"
Some of the soundtrack "Borat" has been used in the movie "American Dreamers" (Director: Emir Kusturica, with Johnny Depp, Faye Dunaway and Jerry Lewis), music written by Goran Bregovic.
