Geoff O’Connor, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Melbourne quartet the Crayon Fields, is a myopic boy genius whose record collection consists almost solely of op-shop vinyl LPs released before 1970. Consequently, the Crayon Fields play ... Full Descriptionintricate, atmospheric pop songs that recall the minor key majesty and close-knit harmonies of 60s maestros such as the Zombies, the Byrds and the Beach Boys. Animal Bells is the Crayon Fields’ debut album, after forming in the last year of high school in 2002 and releasing two previous independent EPs. Animal Bells is an unruffled, dreamy pop masterpiece. Geoff’s often falsetto vocals and ringing 12 string guitar playing are ably accompanied by Brett Hudson’s nimble bass playing, Chris Hung on 2nd guitar and percussion and Neil Erenstrom on drums. Nicole and Julian of fellow Trifekta artists Minimum Chips also provide guest vocals. In recent times, the Crayon Fields have supported many a touring national and international band, including the Unicorns, Dirty Three, Electrelane, Deerhoof, Calvin Johnson, Kelly Stoltz and Architecture in Helsinki to name a few. With Animal Bells, is time for the Crayon Fields to step forward and be counted among Australia’s finest, most intriguing bands. Animal Bells album
$23.79 HISTORY BOOK 1 contains one disc of Jackson's greatest hits and one disc of all-new songs. It features a 52-page booklet with liner notes by Janet Jackson, Steven Spielberg, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as many never-before-seen photographs.
HISTORY BOOK 1 was nominated for a 1996 Grammy Award for Album Of The Year. "You Are Not Alone" was nominated for Grammy Awards for Song Of The Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and the Michael Jackson-Janet Jackson duet "Scream" was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals.
Michael Jackson's monumental collection HISTORY BOOK 1 seeks to make two points. The first disc--chock full of hits spanning Jackson's Epic Records solo career--tries to establish how the so-called King of Pop earned that nickname in the first place; the second disc, featuring fifteen new, star-studded tracks, makes a case for him holding onto that royal moniker well into the next century. And though many may dismiss both directives as the product of Jackson camp hype, once the music begins it's hard to deny him any title he wishes to bestow upon himself.
All of the songs on HISTORY's first disc have already been ingrained in the minds of the radio-listening, MTV-watching public. From the funky disco of 1979's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," through the countless and diverse THRILLER hits ("Billie Jean," ...

Eager to follow up on the ...

It will always be a mystery how a grown man can spend his life wearing a school tie and short pants and receive adulation from the heavy metal fraternity. HM followers do not tolerate a cissy, yet the hugely talented Angus Young has become something of a hero. His riff-laden fills, combined with the tough vocals of the late Bon Scott, made ...

| | They Might Be Giants Severe Tire Damage CD (1998)
Animal Bells songs
$13.79 Since their inception in 1986, They Might Be Giants have been on a mission: to eradicate the self-important, angst-filled, navel-gazing aspects of rock music, and to remind us not to take things quite so seriously. The band pioneered a particular brand of nutty humor fleshed out with quirky, catchy pop-rock that has inspired a whole generation of musicians to write songs that don't necessarily mean anything, and to perform them with a breezy, it's-just-music attitude. Who can resist a song called "Doctor Worm," (one of the few new studio recordings on this mostly live album of mostly old favorites), which asserts "I'm interested in things/I'm not a real doctor, but I am a real worm/I am an actual worm/I live like a worm/I like to play the drums."
