 Beautiful and Moving
I loved the film and was very taken by the score. Buying the CD made me realize how much the music contributed to the atmosphere of the film. I recommended it to everyone - the movie and the soundtrack!

 Eclectic and unique-- for true music connoisseurs.
This soundtrack album is a real treasure trove of music that is almost indescribable. Disc One starts off with a sparse Japanese stringed instrument with faint Arabic chanting in the background. Then one is surprised by a remix of September, by Earth Wind and Fire which deliciously morphs into an aggresive club song. One is caught off guard again by a complete turn-around as the blissful, haunting guitar and mournful strings of Deportation/Iguazu begin to lull you into musical ecstasy. Tracks 6 and 13 are totally wacky and wonderful. Track 8 is a slick, jazzy, bluesy Japanese rap. Track 10 transforms from strings and modern piano into a plaintive and sublime melody. Tribal is joyous Arabic vocals and percussion. The last track, The Blinding Sun, is utterly glorious. On Disc Two, track 3 is a fascinating mix of Moroccan and Mexican music. Oh, My Juliet! will appeal to anyone who loves bass pounding club music with a twist-- it's sung in Japanese. And then we take a complete 360 with Prayer, a raw, earthy Arabic prayer chant that is absolutely astounding to listen to. The Visitors, by Hamza El Din is as "world music" as it gets.
