My favourite song on this album undoubtedly, is Por Ti Sere. How could you just not float away in divine rapture at David's voice, I fiind it so hard to describe, it is just so moving it is hard not to cry! His high tenor is indeed one of the world's best, as so many critics have stated.
Each and every song is just so wonderful to listen to - I honestly can't pick a single song that I would pass over! The songs range from the grandiose more classic style of "Tell that to my heart" to the more upbeat "La Vida Sin Amor". Each song is performed in the trademark Il Divo style we have all come to know so well, with each individual voice having it's own moment, then the grand crescendo towards the end of the achingly beautiful harmony of all four voices building to a hair-raising grand climax.

IL DIVO gives the classical/pop crossover a twist, via a quartet of singers whose vocal chops and model-like looks make them four times the heartthrob threat of predecessor Andrea Bocelli. Masterminded by AMERICAN IDOL's Simon Cowell, Il Divo resonates with an international appeal, thanks to the disparate backgrounds of Sebastien Izambard (France), Urs Buhler (Switzerland), Carlos Marin (Spain), and David Miller (United States). Further solidifying the pop quotient is the involvement of Britney Spears/Backstreet Boys producers Per Magnusson and David Krueger.
Lush orchestral arrangements are applied to Spanish-language readings of Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart (Regresa a Mi)" and Frank Sinatra's signature "My Way (A Mi Manera)," enhancing the romantic sweep of the originals. In their own way, Pavement changed the face of '90s rock just as much as Nirvana, at least for those with an ear closer to the ground of the indie scene. In fact, they virtually defined the indie scene for that decade, and their first full-length album SLANTED AND ENCHANTED was the non-anthem of slacker rock. For years after its release, every hip indie band seemed to imitate Pavement's Fall-influenced, off-kilter sound and post-functional, obscurantist lyrical approach.
The 10th anniversary of the record's release occasioned this special deluxe two-disc edition. Besides the original album, we get a healthy dose of rarities from this phase of the band's career, including radio sessions, outtakes, unreleased tracks, and a generous helping of live cuts. Though there are few revelations here, as the rare cuts sound pretty much of a piece with the classic album, the quality level is consistently high, both in terms of sound and songs. Any of the countless geeks who were instantly transformed into hipsters upon hearing "Summer Babe" or "Conduit For Sale" should be overjoyed at the abundance of prime Pavement on offer here.
