The live set blends both approaches, and Armatrading's, powerful, nuanced vocals sound perfectly at home on percolating folk-rock numbers ("Mama Mercy"), bluesy torch songs ("Tall in the Saddle"), new wave rockers ("How Cruel"), and transcendent waltzes ("Love Song").Dirty Linen (p.71) - "Armatrading's voice was in fine form -- powerful and emotive. I like the concert and Joan's music very much , - but I think the sound of my old original "LP" was is much better . - So music 5 stars+, sound : 1-2 .

This is a solid live recording of Joan with her top-notch band including Little Feat's Richie Hayward on drums. I bought this in album format when it was first released over 20 years ago as an import. I haven't had the album in years and have been hoping it would be released in CD and now that it has, I am one happy customer!! I recommend this for any Joan Armatrading fan or anyone else looking to hear great well-written songs by an artist that has never had enough praise for her impressive music catalog.
