2007 Grammy Nominees CD music
$9.59 A perfect meeting of the obvious and the subtle, the coarse and the silky, the warm and the rugged. Female, country-tinged, folk-based pop, unlike the cliches, sparkles through this album. Taking bits of bluesy ache, the 70s folk rock tradition, Americana and plenty of other little nuggets of goodness, she's created a lush composite that occasionally echoes Bonnie Raitt, Jonatha Brooke, Shawn Colvin, and Patti Griffin, among others, but pushes ahead with a stylistic mix that's too elusive for simple descriptions, too speckled with ambivalence ...

2007 Grammy Nominees CD music
$12.65 What I did or did not do in the past is of no real consequence. However, suffice it to say I made music - albums and singles - for many years. Engaged in lot of sexual healing. Raised a family. Got drunk on far too many occasions. The time period between the first photo (young man) and the second photo (older man LOL) is about 30 years ; during this period I have experienced the normal joy and heartbreak of living but sadly it seems to me that world has become a far meaner place. We have just left the century of blood - the greatest blood letting the world has ever known. It has not stopped but continues to flow right into the 21st century. So I write no more songs of love and heartache, or about bitches, blunts, Bentleys and bullshit. I want my tracks to move you and groove you but at the same time I want those tracks to make you think; make you laugh; make you mad, make cry. But most of all make you think (while you're moving) I want it simply to help raise the consciousness of the listener to the problems of the world. My music does not offer solutions. Although I do maintain that the most profound changes will be effected not by the bullet, nor by the ballot, but by the BOYCOTT - an ECONOMIC BOYCOTT. I want my music to remind you that in war the common folk suffer and die so that the rich and greedy corporations can grow fatter. These corporations get fatter by selling the bombs, missiles, munitions, bombers and fighter planes that are used to flatten basically defenseless countries and then by gaining huge government contracts worth billions of dollars to rebuild the country that was just destroyed. They make literally TONS OF MONEY coming and going. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars. And your sons and grandsons, your sisters and brothers, your fathers, your mothers are killed and maimed in these countless wars for nothing. FOR NOTHING!!!! FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! They often gain nothing but a dirt blanket. To date nearly 4000 of our young men and women have lost their lives and 82,000 more have been wounded mentally and physically and yetthose who have never gone to war are rattling the sabers and talk of war with yet another country. OUR LEADERS SAY FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT - I SAY THE ONLY PROBLEM IS ...YOU DON'T WANT DO IT WITH YOUR KIDS or yourself for that matter. Almost 4000 dirt blanket. All the while funds for the veterans that are needed to administer to the needs of our broken soldiers have been reduced. Veterans make up about 1/4 of the homeless folk in this country. Their physical and mental health needs are growing while resources needed to help them dwindle. The song IF HE COULD STEAL ALL is about ...
