The soundtrack to Jennifer Garner's charming romantic comedy sounds like a who's who of the subtler indie rock on offer around the early 2000s. The well-chosen contributions include the Foo Fighters' acoustic "Razor," which conjures memories of Nick Drake, and the British band the Magic Numbers' perky slice of pop psychedelia, "Mornings Eleven." There's also a shout-out to indie artists of yesteryear courtesy of the Lemonheads' "My Drug Buddy," and an appearance by the Replacements' legendary leader Paul Westerberg, whose fatalistic "Let the Bad Times Roll" has a certain ring of truth, while the U.K. band the Doves strip down their characteristically larger-than-life sound for the charmingly understated "There Goes the Fear."
The best song.... "What If You" by Joshua Radin the the best song on this soundtrack. Submitted by Honeypie (HHI, SC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 3 of 3 found this helpful.
Great music... I purchased this soundtrack not expecting much. I enjoyed the music in the movie but have be disappointed with movie soundtracks in the past. This is a great road trip CD, and great just to listen to. This CD is excellent! Submitted by fsaburit2 (Madera, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Amazing If you like India music, or casual 90's alternative... this is your CD. Gorgeous sound, spellbinding lyrics--this is by far my favorite soundtrack! Submitted by graceam07 (Dayton, OH, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
